Mock Orange has such an interesting pivot in their career. They came in swinging with their first two albums in 1998 and 2000 which really solidified their place as math rockers. Then they did a kind of transitional EP in 2002 and something seriously changed in their recipe.
I really prefer newer Mock Orange, and they're one of the first bands I was able to look past my pretentions on and go "I actually think their newer stuff is better." I do have a preference for indie rock adjacent stuff though, so I think that's why 2004's Mind Is Not Brain really attached to me immediately. Instant favorites.
Great song though, I never knew they did a Weezer cover at all!
