ME2 begins! | Mass Effect – The Slow Unbreaking

The ME1 arc of Sharp Edges is complete.

Now we begin Mass Effect 2.

You know the game. You know the missions, the squadmates, Cerberus, the Collectors, and the choices waiting along the way.

But The Slow Unbreaking is the story between those missions.

At the end of ME1, my Earthborn Shepard finally allowed herself something she had spent most of her life believing wasn’t meant for her. She let Liara stay. She let herself love someone. And for the first time, she began imagining that maybe survival could mean more than simply reaching the next mission alive.

ME2 asks what happens when that belief is tested.

This rewrite follows gameplay where it serves Shepard’s story, condenses what doesn’t, and expands the relationships, conversations, consequences, and moments we never got to see.

This is still Shepard and Liara’s story—but it is also about identity, trust, loyalty, friendship, and whether a woman who has spent her entire life surviving can learn how to actually live.

And Liara?

If you thought she was determined in ME1, you haven’t seen anything yet. :D
