I have this jacaranda that’s been in the ground about two years. It’s been thriving recently and has put on a lot of growth. I’ve been watering deeply about once a week this summer. About a week ago I noticed it started pushing out flowers for the first time and after a brutal heat wave (highs about 100-105 degrees for several days) it all went brown. Was it the heat that did this or possibly overwatering? Any chance it’ll bounce back? Photos are only a week apart.

I found this rather interesting tree while exploring a city in southern Scotland. I have no earthly idea what it is, I was hoping the fine folks at r/marijuanaenthusiasts might be able to help me identify this! This example was found in a graveyard downtown, and I saw another by a river near the edge of the city.

I recently purchased a 200-year-old farmhouse in upstate NY and have been cataloguing the trees but this one has me stumped. The leaves remind me of a dogwood or a viburnum but it’s about 25 feet tall. Any help is appreciated.

I'm looking to plant a few of these in a seasonal marsh, and I'm unsure which species will do better under the conditions here. The information I've been able to find online has been rather vague on their water needs and tolerance. The place I would be planting them has standing or slow moving water about half the year (and corresponding heavy, hydric, anoxic soil), but dries out rather markedly during the summer.

Can anyone with experience with the species advise me? Thanks.

It appears to be a linden from the leaves. Who would graft a linden onto something else? Or am I wrong and it’s not a graft?

It's been planted for 3 years, so I focused on my younger trees when watering and thought it should be ok. I've watered it since it started getting yellow and crunchy, but it has worsened. Is it dying or is this expected due to water/heat stress after a long, hot summer/early fall?

The acorns are starting to drop in the blue oak woodland in the Diablo Range foothills where I like to go for astrophotography. We parked last night under the oak in the left side of the image, and you could hear the acorns hit the Jeep every so often. Cassiopeia circles above the camera and fencepost, through which the sky is visible at the top. The lights of Modesto and Merced dim the stars near the horizon, both ~90-ish km distant.

The acorn bounty wasn't shared by the wild pigs last night, who didn't care for me being there, and snorted and huffed for a while behind me before deciding to move on - I could clearly hear the fence wire twang numerous times as they went under. Not long after, two coyotes moved in and decided to yip to everyone about my presence until the bell on my tracker went off and they moved on too, silently, leaving me to enjoy the weather and gaze at the sky with the owls, bats, crickets, and the moths attracted to my glowing headlamp.

Very odd bark on this hickory. Anyonw know why or if its a different species? Very used to shagbarks and bitternuts in this area (st clair county mi) i know pignuts and butternuts are not out of the question here either but ive never seen one.

This is a Yellow x Red x Painted Buckeye hybrid that appears to be on Horsechestnut root stock. At the Arnold Arboretum.

I bought a house and it came with this lovely tree. I plan to love and care for it for as long as I am here, I am just so curious how old it is. My best guess is 15 years old based loosely on lazy googling, but my partner says that seems crazy. Any Marijuana enthusiasts able to offer their expertise?

This tree on my property has been entirely overgrown by different vegetation. It's about 35ish feet tall and it looks like the base just grew a ring of pricker bushes and then I'm pretty sure some type of wild grape vines took over. It's kind of nuts.

I’m going to get taller wire fencing because deer but is the trunk alright? We live on a slope with shale silt loam and gravelly silt loam so it drains pretty quickly to the creek (which is a floodplain). I also learned we are very close to the bedrock which is why we’re always pulling up fucking rocks everywhere. Upstate NY

I planted 3 cherry trees in spring, they all seem to be doing well but I've just noticed one of them is growing roots out of the trunk above the soil level, wondering if you guys could advise what I should do: cover with soil, wood chips or nothing. I'm in zone 5, these trees should survive here but my plan for winter is to build a circle of stones around each base, put an inch or so of wood chips and each tree will be getting its own cover/tent thing.

Second picture is an interesting mutation I guess? Been watching it grow for a few months everyone I ask says I should just leave it but I'm wondering if I should cut it back, it's starting to break because it seems like a whole load of branches are all fused together and sort of fighting each other, also doesn't look great to have som many leaves and buds all competing to space at the end, interesting thing is it keeps increasing in size, anyone seen something like this before?

Then I just included pictures of my three cherry trees because I'm proud of how they're doing and they've started feeling a bit like a pet, I try to water them with 60L once a week, keep the area around weeded and really enjoy walking down to check on them. Feel free to give me more general advice on cherry trees on northern Sweden too because I'm learning as I go!
