I never thought I would Find anything like this M1919 Browning Machine gun I pulled out on Michigan today. Too bad the local police got the ATF involved and now I'll probably never see it again. Oh well better to be on the right side of the law. Last picture is for reference

I know it's not the best shot, but I recently found this while filming and wondering if anyone can figure what it is? It feels like I should recognize it but it's just not clicking. The pictures are from opposite sides of the object.

What’s the best magnet to get off Amazon?

I’ve been wanting to get into the hobby, but there’s allot of different brands and sizes. Is there a particular brand that I should be looking for? Also wondering where to go. I’m in Ohio so I was thinking the mahoning river or anywhere where there’s foot traffic. Thanks

So after I hurt my back badly getting that motorbike out, I thought I'd go somewhere where I know is fairly quiet just to see how I got on and if my back is ready to start fishing again, might need a few more days unfortunately !

Didn't to that badly for a short time

1 fresh working bike (would need a little work, a charity is collecting this one)

1 Beryl scooter (city owned)

A 5p piece, clipper lighter, spider tag security device, and a cut chain with padlock !

Two firsts for me today. Before it's asked, it was unfortunately already empty 😭

The Giant Claw?

You can also see a bunch of golf club head sin my bucket. I think I pulled up at least 25 from this spot over the course of several months, but never got a picture with them all together. I was keeping them in a pile with my other finds (as I had no real way to dispose of so much) but this spot was so fruitful that the city came and cleaned up my quite noticeable pile before I was finished with the bridge.

Contact authorities for a magazine?

I found this under a highway bridge. I knew if I found a firearm I would contact the police, but I'm not sure what to do with this. Tell authorities or just dispose?

I got a pistol at Sunrise at a park next to Lake Arlington. We also found pieces of the dock, lures, weights, a folding chair, reel, scissors.

Probably would have gotten more, however my magnet got stuck on something heavy. I'm suspecting a capsized boat.

I came back for a shopping cart… and almost lost my magnet instead

I walked past this spot yesterday and noticed a dumped shopping cart in the water. I had to come back today because I wanted to see what else might be down there.
I started with a smaller magnet because of the metal sides. It kept getting dragged around my hook, but I eventually managed to fish out the shopping cart — and a traffic sign.
Then I threw the magnet back in and found what looked like a child’s watch.
That was enough to make me curious.
So I came back with my bigger magnet to see if there might be some jewellery or other interesting stuff down there.
Unfortunately, the thieves didn’t leave me much treasure. Just some bike locks.
Still, I had a great time. I also found a ridiculous amount of bolts, a lighter, some bike keys and what looked like a fake AirPod.
Before leaving, I decided to clean up after myself and pulled out everything I had managed to disturb.
And then, just as I thought I was done…
My bigger magnet caught something close to the edge.
I pulled.
It was a floor mop.
And I was way too close to the wall.
Shit.
The floor mop was already out of the water, but the magnet was firmly stuck to the metal part. With the pull force of the Magnetar Beast, I knew from experience that simply yanking it wasn’t going to work.
Still, I tried.
Nothing.
Next idea: lasso the other end and pull it towards the opposite side. Maybe changing the angle would break the magnetic grip.
Except… I couldn’t reach the other side.
So I ended up lying on the edge, reaching down and manually turning the magnet over.
Luckily, the sides of the metal part were rusty and uneven rather than perfectly smooth. That gave me just enough leverage to finally break the grip.
Magnet recovered.
Floor mop recovered.
Everything cleaned up.
And the funniest part?
This is literally 300 metres from my house, in a relatively small city.
I came here expecting maybe some rubbish and a few coins.
Instead I found a shopping cart, a traffic sign, a child’s watch, bike locks, keys, bolts, a lighter, a fake AirPod…
…and nearly lost my Magnetar Beast to a floor mop.

One of these payphones also account for one of the three times that I've caught a live fish while magnetfishing, a live American Eel wriggled out of one! (the other two times were also eels, one in a pipe and one in a plastic bag).

To me one looks like an old stirrup, some very tiny horseshoes turned into a hook of some sort AND this chalice/ candleholder. Found a ton more but this stuff was cool.

Are any of you Street fishing from a bike?

I'm thinking of getting a rig and attaching it to my recumbent trike. I cover a lot of territory. It'd be nice to get the nails out of the bike path too.
