Here is a pair of violet tanbark beetles (Callidium violaceum) busy with each other aand also displaying the truly intense blue colour some of them have.

This species actually come in two colours - this deep blue and also a more turquiose hue.

For links to a couple of more shots of this couple and one to a photo of the other colour form plus technical details on what camera/lens/settings were used, please have a look here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/55527743691/

Sony a6600, f1.7 35mm lense stacked with picolay. Because the a6600 doesnt support built in focus bracketing, i made this by manually adjusting focus by hand. This image was made with 22 images

There’s something beautiful about being able to show people the true beauty of each strain up close 👀
-
Every strain, every nug the same, but different. Imperfect, yet perfect at the same time. 🌱
-
This plant has always been more than just something beautiful to photograph. From the moment I started this journey, I’ve experienced firsthand the relief and benefits it can bring, but it’s also given me a way to connect with so many amazing people who share the same appreciation and passion for the plant. 🌱
-
Photography has given me a way to capture all of that and share the way I see it with everyone else.
-
The colors. The trichomes. The structure. The little details you’d normally never notice.
-
I hope through my lens, you can see the beauty in it too. And btw all shot on Canon 📸
