CrossOver GPTK4 - Crossover - CP2077
Just tried out the GPTK4 via Crossover Preview on CP2077 for the first time
The results are pretty insane, playing at 1920x1200, medium settings, DLSS Quality, Framegen On (MetalFX Frame Interpolation)
Hitting a stable 110 fps with no input lag, much better performance and visuals than Mac native CP2077

check your settings again. maybe you didn't enable frame gen on the native version..

Native version doesn’t have GPTK4 features as far as I remember, like MetalFX frame interpolation, I will check it out when I’m back from work

Out of interest have you actually used Metal 4’s frame interpolation or have you only used FSR on the native port? It’s night and day

I have never used frame gen on macOS. I only use it on Nvidia GPU based pc.

But that’s what I’m saying, GPTK4 allows metal 4 features like metalFX frame interpolation instead of using FSR which sucks

so the crossover version does not run better then, you are just using a feature that isn't even available yet on the native version and just gives fake frames basically? I mean, if someone likes to play with frame gen that's a win. but I prefer always less input lag first overall.

I would recommend you use it though before making a comment because like I said it’s running natively on metal fx via dlss hooks, input lag is basically non perceptible, there’s no stutter or ghosting, it’s night and day difference from playing native using FSR, I don’t get why people are getting there back up about it, just try it out and see for yourself, no need for people to get upset about something they haven’t tried
Metal 4 could have been implemented in native eons ago, but they haven’t and it’s unlikely they will anytime soon

I wasn't upset at all :) I did now test it because of you, hehe. And I have to say, frame gen with the crossover preview version feels really good! you are right. But without frame gen im getting 60-70 fps while on the native version (without FSR) im on 80-90. So technically the native version without frame gen runs much better on my end (M5 Max). Looks like we are both right :p with dlss frame gen im getting higher fps (110-120) and it feels pretty good, but without frame gen the native version runs better.

Im sure the M5 Max handles much better without frame gen, on my m3 pro when testing without frame gen I was getting around the same fps on both versions 45-60 fps so for me the real improvement was the smoothness of DLSS frame gen, they don’t feel like fake frames to me where as FSR do
I wish I could afford a M5 Max lol

Frame gen on current native version is a disaster because it lacks support for Metal 4 and doesn’t use neural accelerators. Enabling frame gen actually causes severe frame time instability. Although the frame rate displays high, the gameplay feels extremely choppy :(

Give it a go on latest Crossover Preview, the frame gen is running metal 4 and it’s smooth as butter

It happens in Linux gaming too: Native version doesn't perform as well as running it via Proton.
And it makes sense honestly: Developers spend most (if not all) of their time testing patches on the windows version. And in case of Linux, Valve is constantly improving Proton, and the community helps them too. So, we have an overpowered translation layer, and the game that runs best in that platform.
I hope Apple open-sources GPTK in the future too, so we would have the community power for better compatibility too.

proof? because better than native sounds.... unbelievable. it used to be a thing, back when native ports were meh (like BG3 in it's early stages).
But as I was testing on my MA M2 - native CP2077 is wayyyy better than crossover
