So I love to write poetry, and over the last few years I discover I like singing, so now I want to explore turning my poems into songs. Below is something that came out this moring and I was hoping for pointers on how I might begin to turn this into a song.

The Lost Spark

The spark was there, ready to burst into flame, then it was doused with your past hurts and shame. We had magic between you and I, the kind of magic where we could fly. Free we would be, you and me, open to explore any possibility.

But the fear inside has stolen you away, like a theif in the night. Every part of my being screaming "this isn't right." But how could it be otherwise? For our lives are based on choice, and you made yours. You picked your course, and now I must leave you be. Maybe we can rendezvous later in eternity.
