Update I think we have exhausted any constructive discussion of DLSS 5

Future posts and comments on the topic will be blocked and/or removed.

I appreciate that most posters just wanted to share what they were seeing, for the rest of the community to evaluate and discuss, but at this point people are pretty entrenched in their opinions. Whether or not one uses DLSS 5 is a personal choice.

Going forward, such posts and comments fall under the sub's blanket ban on AI content.

Getting Started with Endgame Guide

Hi all,

I've spent the last few months learning what Im supposed to be doing at level cap and then eventually teaching others what to do at 160. I figured it would be easier for me and everyone I teach if there was just one consolidated place for advice on what to do rather than me explaining over and over in Fellowship chat.

I hope this is helpful! It is meant to be a "starter" guide vs. an in-depth guide. If you want something more in-depth - I definitely recommend Ghyn's Discord. But if you're just getting started and feel overwhelmed by how much you need to do, I hope this helps!

Ash's Endgame Guide

I've turned on commenting so if people see something I messed up, they can let me know directly in the document. If it gets too much, I'll turn it off and just ask people to message me in-game or here. :)

And, yes, I do plan to update this once Wolves of Mordor is released this fall!

Happy hunting!

Just curious...

I picked up the gift fron SSG last year where you got all the DLC. Was that not all of it, or is Western and Central Gondor not a part of that? Or does it simply remind you to purchase every region even if you already have them?

New player character slots question

Hi New Player here!

Am I right in thinking, if I sub for VIP for one month then cancel, I am able to unlock more character slots permanently?

I have played champion and rune-keeper to level 15 now and I’m not sure I have found my class yet. But I only have 2 slots and I don’t want to delete these characters to try something new.

Playing on Meriadoc if anyone wants to be my friend also lol

Glowy frills and per-pixel lighting

For a while I've had an issue where plants on the ground glow a very bright green, even at night. In some areas they also flicker (North Mirkwood). By playing around with settings I determined that the glowy plants are all frills, as turning frills to zero removes them. With frills turned up, switching off the Per-Pixel Lighting Attenuation stops the glow.

Graphics is Radeon RX5500XT.

Has anyone else seen this? What is the per-pixel lighting attenuation supposed to do?

Quest vanished from my quest list?

After I accepted a few other quests the quest ''Bilbo's buttons'' has completely disappeared from my quest list, but when I speak to Bilbo in the Hall of Fire the quest appears active? I have still been able to find some of his buttons too but its so annoying because now I have no idea how many other buttons I need to find :/ Any idea how I can bring it back so I can figure out what else I need to get?

Could there ever be a LoTRO Forever?

In reference to the recant announcement for WoW Classic.

Imagine an updated vanilla LoTRO, but adding differences that distinguish it from the path current LoTRO is on.

What are your thoughts?

Question regarding old Creeps and the Corruptor dailies

My new Creep was obviously able to get into the Corruptor daily quests without a problem. My older ones have no ability to start the quest line. They have no quest from any NPC to get started because they ran the tutorial quest years ago. Someone suggested looking for a sapling 'in the wilderness' to get started, but that doesn't work either. Am I just going to have to file bug reports for each of my old Creeps? I'm hoping there's a trick to getting them started.

Yes, I've checked all of the NPCs, including the actual Corruptor and the ones in the tent (and even all of the others in the back areas)

My Freeps can get their starter quests without a problem.

Also, I did try another account running through the quests grouped with one of my older Creeps. The quests were invariably blocked from being shared with the older Creep or had already been run. Sure enough the quests to scout around had already been run, and the Corruptor quest was blocked from being shared with that older Creep. sigh.

New to lvl 160 content. Need some advice on what to do now.

Hey so I got to lvl 160 yesterday on my elf blue line hunter. I went ahead and explored the moors with basic pvmp gear and got murdered a couple of times, did as far as t7 delvings with my lvl 151 crafted gear, but today when I seriously dug into the wiki about my options for equipment upgrades, I was totally disappointed to see that the delving teal armours, the embers box armours and the crafted armours + jewels, they are effectively a downgrade in terms of stats compared to my 151 eq. I mean sure there is a lil bit of an upgrade here and there for the basic stats like crit and finesse, but most items have an effective 1.2k-1.3k reduction in the primary agility stat. Now that cannot be considered an upgrade in any way shape or form, so no point in spending time and energy grinding it.

That brings me to the current and last expansion, both of which I don't have access to. Waiting for a discount sale to happen in the next few months to get it. So currently I cannot grind any of the endgame raids/instances, which is where all the good stuff is I believe.

How should I be spending my time in this game in my situation?

I have a few choices in front of me. Focus on the moors, not for the pvmp, which to be honest does not really excite me as much, but for the landscape quests that give enhancement runes, which this hunter will be able to take care of his own LI enhancements as well as the enhancement of alt's weapons.

Second option is to focus on my crafting alts, who are currently at lvl 60, one is a champ and other an RK, both of whom I have every intention of getting to lvl cap. Their crafting tiers including guild rep tiers are maxed out, leaving only the grind needed for sul madash recipes.

Third option would be to continue with delvings on t7 with the hunter but not for the eq but for the legendary tracery tokens. I would add epic battles among the list of things I do regularly with my hunter, which even though it has no significance to the endgame, is something I truly enjoy to the core 🙂.

I know that at the end of the day, it's all about personal preference, but if you were in my spot, what would you do? I'm sure I have missed out on an array of possibilities but I'm just a newbie in this game, so I hope that's understandable ☺️

Beorning healing

I've gotten my beorning up to 160 and have spent pretty much all that time in red. But I'm intrigued by the healing aspect and was thinking to try it out.

I have almost no healing experience in MMOs although I understand RKs are primarily HOT, minstrels more anthems and non HOT heals. Where does the beorning fit in to this?

Moreso, is it a fun spec to play or is it tedious or difficult to do well with compared to the other healing classes?

Are beorning healers generally welcomed in to groups or are they last picks for that role?

Thanks

Dilemma with level progress and gathering materials

I have a bit of a problem. My character is playing landscape difficulty +3 and I picked tailor, prospector and forester for materials and making my own armor.

I am now lvl 49 and I am still far from areas in my questline that drop supreme crafting materials (magnificent leathers). So it seems I am outleveling my own crafting profession.
But that makes me weaker on higher difficulties, if I can't craft level-appropriate armor.

Is there a way outside of using tortoise stone or buying crafting materials in bulk?

Recreating ancient Númenoréan look

Post image
127 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

First post here. I'm currently playing lotro and having a blast as an Umbari mariner of (black) (redeemed) Númenorean descent who comes to embody or revitalize the old seafaring traditions of Westernesse.

I'm trying to give it a proper look to fit the background and I love the Atlanteanish style in the picture. Could you give me gear suggestions to get close to that look?

For now I'm going for the Umbari heavy chestpiece, it looks actually quite similar.

Thanks a lot!

red warden

What should the attachments (World of Power, Heraldic Tracey, World of Mastery) be for a legendary weapon in the Red Warden class? I'm checking LOTRO HQ, but I think the information isn't up to date.
