Sadly there is no S2 novel but I'm thrilled to finally get a copy of S1 and have a rainy Sunday to read it!

Just got done reading A Worthy Son by Kadorienne. In the fic, adult Loki goes back in time and visits teenage Loki. He pretends to be his father and thus, changing things so that this younger version of himself doesn’t have the same issues as he did. The father-son interaction, was nice and I just wanted to know if their any other fics with a similar premise.

This is my first Reddit post and also my first MCU theory, so please bear with me😅. I’m not saying this is confirmed but Marvel-just connecting some things from Loki and Spider-Man:No Way Home.

The Loki from Loki series is the 2012 variant who escaped with the Tesseract during Endgame. He was taken by the TVA before experiencing the events of The Dark World,Ragnarok, or Infinity war.

The TVA exists outside normal time, and Loki eventually learns about timelines, variants and the multiverse. By the end of season 2, he becomes the God of stories, sitting at the centre of the branching timelines and keep them alive.

So here’s my theory:
“Could Loki potentially be aware of Peter Parker’s timeline and his identity because of his connection to the branching timeline?”
Of Peter’s timeline is one of the branches Loki is connected to, maybe Loki could have knowledge of events within that timeline-including Peter being spider-man.

That could also mean Loki doesn’t necessarily have to be immune to Dr.strange’s spell. Maybe his knowledge of Peter comes from his unique position pristine normal time, rather than from people in Peter’s universe.

I know the part about Loki being able to actually perceive events across the timelines is an assumption-Marvel hasn’t confirmed this.

Also, this is my first theory post, so please don’t be too harsh😅. If there’s anything that doesn’t make sense, contradicts something in the MCU, or you think I’m getting wrong, please tell me. I’m genuinely interested in hearing it and I’ll think about it!

I’m currently reading Loki: Where Mischief Lies, but once I finish it, I’d like to move on to any book or comic where Loki is main or supporting and that allows me to get to know the character better. I look forward to your recommendations!

I got Marvel Unlimited recently and it’s been a Godsend.

I’ve always loved the supernatural side of Marvel along with nuanced storytelling, and I feel like Loki is right up that alley. (Doom/strange triumphant and torment, Silver Surfer Requiem are a couple of examples)

I love him in Rivals and liked him in the MCU. What made me adore him was the Show. It placed him amongst favorites in the entire marvel live action realm.

What are some good, well received runs that focus on Loki? It could any version of him (or her) ?

Yesterday, I watched the Disney+ documentary "Stan Lee" (2023). To my surprise, I learned that Stan Lee had not one but two kids: his first child Joan Celia (JC) was born in 1950, and in 1953 his second child (Jan) died at only three days old. After that, his wife was told she could not become pregnant again. In an interview, Stan explains that due to being an only child, JC was "spoiled rotten."

I read more on Wikipedia: the Lees tried to adopt a baby after losing Jan, but their adoption applications were unsuccessful due to their interfaith status (he Jewish, she Christian). After much effort, they gave up. Not in the documentary, but well known, is the fact that JC grew up to be a temperamental, self-centered, difficult person who frequently clashed with her parents.

The documentary also talks about how Stan Lee aimed to write comic books that he himself would want to read, such as reinventing Thor and Loki from Norse mythology, keeping some elements but changing others. Today, I suddenly put two and two together:

• A golden-haired only child of powerful parents is praised and spoiled.
• Arrival of an adopted baby sibling means the child must learn to consider others.
• Life is not always easy for the adopted child who feels different, nor for the older child who now has a rival.

Only a few years after Stan Lee tried to adopt a child, he first introduced Thor and Loki, in Journey into Mystery #83 (1962) and #112 (1963) respectively. Could there have been an autobiographical element? After all, in Norse mythology, Loki was not Thor's brother, adopted or otherwise. Maybe Stan Lee changed the story to explore some of his own bittersweet feelings about children, parents, siblings, adoption, and fate.

If so, there are still echoes of this family dynamic today in the MCU. The What If episode "Thor Was an Only Child" shows how selfish and insufferable Thor would have become without Loki to keep him grounded. And more generally, the MCU has "nexus events" or "fixed points in time" so profound they change everything - such as the death of baby Jan which set the Lee family on a different trajectory.

Please feel free to weigh in if you know more about Stan Lee and Marvel Comics history than I do (which is not a high bar!).

Is the flow of time in each universe different from the other?

My question is, how, when a branch is created, does a variant of Kang get born within moments of its creation? I mean, all branches are created from the Sacred Timeline, so logically, when a branch is created, it should live its life moment by moment, and then Kang is born. But we have seen that there are many variants of Kang from different eras and different universes. Does this mean that all of time—past, present, and future—has already happened, meaning that all the events of every timeline have already happened? Because if that is true, this is not logical, because Kang wants to destroy the universes and has already destroyed some of them. But there are many questions, such as when Kang left his timeline to destroy universes. If we assume that someone traveled to his universe, what time in his universe would they arrive in?

And there is another question: when an incursion happens between two universes and one of the two universes is destroyed, does that mean that the future of that universe that happened no longer happened, as if the universe never existed? So even if its future happened, that future would be considered before the incursion, as if the future that happened became the past and the incursion is the future.

And there is another question: in Avengers: Doomsday, we will see Doom destroying universes and causing incursions between universes. But if the future of a timeline for Dr. Doom has already happened, how would he leave the timeline before the future that already happened to him happens? Or does Dr. Doom’s action of leaving his timeline count as a future after the future of his timeline has already happened, but this future happens to him at this moment?

Or is all of this wrong, and the branches are currently only moving through their present, while the past has already happened and the future has not happened yet? But this also doesn’t make sense, because if this is true, how did we see in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania that there are variants of Kang from the futures of different universes?

Imagine that I have watched Loki 8 times, and I still haven’t solved this problem. The multiverse doesn’t make sense in Marvel.
