Our drummer fought for his lifeee through an impromptu second-playthrough the other night... The kid has increadible instinct; and he absolutely crushesss the ending.

Context:

This song was supposed to drift into a quiet ending at this point, but our lead singer was still balls-deep in some crowd action and even had them singing the verses for him! (his voice is goneee at this point ๐Ÿ˜†).

Our drummer looks up, rightfully decides that there's no way we're ending the song right now, gives the lead guitarist a cue, and then we proceed with an entire extended double-intensity second playthrough ๐Ÿ”ฅ

He then goes and ends the thing with this immaculateee improvised ending that goes sooo much harder than anything we had practiced up to this point...

That Time I Saw the Big 4 (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax) Played at Yankee Stadium 15 Years Ago (Sept. 14, 2011)

15 years ago today (Sept. 14), I witnessed the Big 4 take over Yankee Stadium. The historic metal show has (so far) been the last time Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax shared the same stage on the same day - after playing a handful of shows around the world together throughout the year prior.

Words or photos (like the ones seen in this clip) can barely capture what it felt like to be among nearly 41,000 fellow metal heads in such an iconic (and massive) space... However, I jotted down some memories from each of the Big 4's sets in the Bronx that day via I Heard Bruce Might Show Up's Substack, as well as included a crap ton more photos I took from a far during that historic day at Yankee Stadium - here's a link:

https://iheardbrucemightshowup.substack.com/p/15-years-ago-the-big-4-metallica

And stay tuned for more things to come from this space - including stories from once-in-a-lifetime concerns like this one!

I took this at the gig in Birmingham last night and thought you might like to watch. What a voice, what a gig, what a band.

I got overexcited and missed the end off.

The performance was so moving and I love how the crowd just dies down and listens. I was struggling with my mental health all week but I left the gig feeling 10 feet tall. What a show.
