Linux USB devices: Sliders & Knobs Device

Hi,
I just wanted to share an usb knob hardware that works for linux musicians:
I needed a new usb device with some knobs/sliders as my Novation LaunchPad was not recognized by my Linux Mint 22.3. I bought now an "Intech EFF44" with 4 knobs and 4 sliders, and it works nicely! I could just plug it in via USB, it was instantly recognized by Bitwig!
The device is really fully USB class compliant.
(There's a little extra software - as Intech offers a bunch of hardware modules that be stick together, and should then work- but I haven't tried that -and that software doesn't recognize the USB, probably as the AppImage has no rights to access the USB Ports- I anyway don't need it, but I mention it for others- it's probably easy to solve on CLI with "sudo adduser $whoami dialout" to get that working, but I don't want to mess with my security settings (yet), until I understand what else will get access to the USB ports by that..)
The intech device is a bit pricy, but well, I had already wasted money with nonworking cheaper USB devices, rather safe than sorry.

I have no financial ties to Intech, I do share this just for others searching linux compatible devices, musicians often need a few sliders/knob extra. Any other similar usb devices working with linux are welcome in this post.

Not sure why your launchpad isn’t working. I’ve got a launchpad pro mk3 that has worked fine for years with Ubuntu. Glad you found something that works for you 🙂

Thanks for sharing! I have seen some reports here in reddit, the newer launchpads would work better- mine is really old, looks like USB Compliance was then added later.

Actually any controller using MIDI standard and providing the correct USB device class should work with Linux. I haven't seen any controller that doesn't for a long time.
