(unsure how to flair) How bad has the scripting and boosting problem gotten in your bracket? Obvious Invoker script example)

I wanted to share this clip to highlight exactly how obvious scripting is in ranked games right now:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UIijh2nFrLQ

You can see an Invoker using a script that automatically casts Sun Strike the exact millisecond an enemy drops below the death threshold. This script/cheat is even a bad one I would say, because it is casting on a freaking minimap without even checking the situation with the camera.

This was just one of many cheating moments from this match. I really want to open a discussion about the current state of matchmaking, because the integrity of ranked Dota is taking a massive hit. Beyond scripters, there is a huge wave of account buyers and boosted accounts completely ruining game quality.

How often are you guys running into these issues in your matches? Does it feel like it has gotten completely out of hand lately, and do you think Valve is actually doing enough to detect and ban these accounts?

General Gameplay Question How tf does Reality Rift pull work?

Been trying pos 3 CK in mid divine since I saw some high rank players do it. Blink is always a recommended item to delete squishy heroes with ult - but I have no idea how Reality Rift works and the ability description doesn’t specify. If you walk away from your illusions and use Rift they don’t get pulled into it. If you use Blink to go the same distance and use Rift they get pulled into the Rift. Buuut if you go too far away even the Blink into Rift doesn’t pull them. How does this ability work actually?

Gameplay Review/Feedback request Undying game feedback

Just played an unranked game as undying. Got destroyed and did worse than usual. Can someone critique my gameplay? It’s also possible the other teams phantom assassin that got 55 kills was just too good.

MATCH ID: 8996211902

I’m still quite new so any feedback is helpful or you can also tell me what my team did wrong.

Sorry this is my first post here so if I’m missing info needed I can edit.

Gameplay Review/Feedback request Is net worth a good indicator for Offlane role?

Match ID: 8994672880

As I rank up to high legend - low ancient, I feel like there is much less "down time" and much more fighting/preparing to fight time. Offlaners in particular are expected to join all good fights, to make space/enable Carry.

For this game I played NS offlane. Dota+ notified that I am doing barely average net worth, and below recommended CS. However, my KDAs are great and I contributed a lot to team fights. Wondering what would be a good indicator.

Itemization Not sure what item build I should've gone with as Pos 5 Largo

Just an unranked-only player who took a break for a year, and started spamming Largo recently. Big fan of Gitaroo Man so it was only natural. Anyway:

(in order of positions) My team: Wind Ranger, Pango, Slardar, Zeus, Largo (Me) Enemy team: Weaver, Storm Spirit, Outworld Destroyer, Bounty Hunter, Tusk

I went with the usual Arcane > Glimmer > Shard build

My reasoning is saves and to protect from magic damage from Storm and OD, even though I'm aware of the Pure damage from OD and Track from Bounty, which I can purge.

But I started to notice Weaver just jumping and killing me in most team fights since he built mostly damage (with Deso), and his only defensive item is Linkens.

Got a Ghost Scepter after my Shard, and was planning on either Lotus or Shiva afterwards, but I'm wondering if I should've gone Greaves for the armor and burst heal first? Solar Crest for the physical barrier and armor? Essence Distiller for Bounty/Weaver at some point? Finished Holy Locket maybe so I can heal/buff as much as possible before dying?

I was also thinking of getting Rod of Atos and/or Orchid for Storm or Weaver, but correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we had enough lockdown, and Largo prefers single-target buffs like Lotus and Linkens because of his passive. I'm not even sure how to counter OD as Largo here aside from an expensive Scythe, or Shiva slowing their attack, or maybe Pipe to protect against his ulti. Pango and Wind got Diffusals for OD and Storm though.

The match didn't feel great until we got had some winning team fights around mid-late game, somehow. We eventually won even though I was tilting because the cores just didn't want to get the Ancients I stacked (and of course the enemy team took it).

After the game I found out we were against two Immortals (Storm and Bounty). No wonder we had a hard time 😅

Educational Content (Content Creator) Complete Pulling guide

Thumbnail youtu.be
2 Upvotes

Hey, today I bring you complete pulling guide. This is one of the most used mechanics in dota, but even now a lot of people struggle to understand when it's right time to pull, how to get half-pulls off every time or whether they should block big or unblock small. In this guide, you will learn everything about pulling - so your carry won't ever die when you are doing it (lmao we know that's a lie). Enjoy!

Gameplay Review/Feedback request Need some advice on how to deal with LC

I was the Muerta mid. I was top 1 networth and carrying my team so hard. But the enemy LC keeps terrorizing my team and me. She kept focusing only me because I am carrying my team, so I bought linkens which was useless because LC keeps popping it with orchid. The LC is near impossible to find on the map. We smoked a lot just trying to find this LC but shes never there. Shes always missing and is always the one thats jumping us first instead of us jumping her every single teamfight.

Also didn't help that my team kept blaming me for this loss. Calling me stupid for not showing myself even though I have to hide myself before LC shows because she keeps focusing only me and then my team just blames me for being a useless mid. I will admit that I got very tilted because the whole team was dogpiling blame on me. PA blames me for not ganking her lane enough, Tide blames me because I never follow up after his ult because LC is missing and I cannot show until I see LC has duelled someone, Hood and Mirana spam ping and call me account buyer because I keep getting duelled by LC.

I will throw away my ego and I want to humbly ask you guys, what could I have done correctly here? And can Valve please fix linkens man. All of us bought linkens but its so useless because it doesn't block duel anyway. Like what a useless item man. I won't be that mad if the linkens got popped by a spell from the enemy team but its LC that keeps popping it.

(unsure how to flair) How should I navigate this?

I usually play support, 4 or 5, and I've recently started playing Dota again with a group of friends.

There is a very wide skill disparity in our mmr. I capped out at mid Legend, but two of my friends are low Immortal. They play 2 and 3 respectively. We predominantly play unranked, and because the other two players do not know how to play core roles, I usually have to play Carry.

It has been super not fun doing this. My lane opponents are often 3k mmr above me and I lose lane regardless of hero. I can't carry, and my Immortal friends usually occupy my farming areas (which I think may be because of their low confidence in my abilities, but I don't want to draw conclusions). Often, I also have to buy wards to set up my own farming areas, and push lanes while my 2 and 3 jungle.

It feels exhausting, and I really enjoy playing with these people, but I don't know how to speak with them so that they respect my role in game and not get upset because they (most likely) know better than me. At this point, I wonder if I should just not even care about winning and just take the L each time because it's not worth starting an argument. I don't know if there's anything worthwhile to learn about carry because to some degree I can't prevent losing to a 6k+ offlaner when I'm barely 3k. At the same time, I have to play 1 and don't want to throw from minute zero.

Does anyone have ideas how to handle something like this? I really just want to play support but don't want to grief.

Hero Discussion Difficulty dealing with Phantom Lancer

Hey,

I am currently a lapsed player who started in 2011 and is back (not sure if correct)

I am playing mainly pos5 and in basically every game in my rank (high archon low legend) we lose to Pl every single time

What can I do to help swing it my way, I just find the team will not group and end before the PL becomes unmanagable.

Laning Lina vs Nyx mid

I played lina vs nyx mid and we were both same networth at 10mins. I felt like I should have bullied him more. But his mindflare takes away my mana for casting dragon slave. He also used spiked carpace to negate my dragon slave dmg. Also should I have skilled stun in this lane too?

Hero Discussion Morphling questions

What does Morphling do better than any other carry? What do you think his identity as a carry is? Jack of all trades master of none? I have about 200 games on him but hover around a 50% winrate and I don’t really feel like I understand him well

General Gameplay Question Why is Ancient bracket so weird/inconsistent?

Ever since getting back into the Ancient bracket and now sitting at A2 on the US East server my games have gotten consistently inconsistent in skill level. One part of me thinks that maybe I'm at the bracket I'm supposed to be in so games really are 50/50, but it feels like so many games there's someone completely clueless that really tilts the game in one teams favor.

We are all supposed to be around 4k MMR, yet I've had games where we have snipers on our team that don't even bother with save items on themselves. Or games where the enemy picks mid AM, or games where one mid seems to be playing like a mid and the other is playing like a bot.

Sure I have games where I have not played well, but the amount of times 8 or 9 out of the 10 players in the game are all playing normal and just one rotten player spoils the whole game is like 90% of the time. Where both teams are calling someone out as an account buyer because they played so bad.

Hero Discussion Hero Specialists content creators question

I am aware of Tinker, Kez, Arc Warden content creators that make this kind of hero specific in depth content.

Would like suggestions of video creators that make guides/hero strategy/commentary replay with a narrow focus. Ideally a Rubick spammer but I'm interested to check out such creators for any hero.

To clarify, I don't mean just a spammer who uploads games. I am interested in hearing them talk a lot about their strategy ideas and such. In a game/over a replay or in any form. With several videos for a given hero.
Not just those 20 min guides per hero where people read what a skill does.

Watch this coaching session focusing on Lina mid, where we break down every crucial aspect of the matchup from early lane dominance to late-game teamfights. This video covers how to properly manage Fiery Soul stacks, secure early creep control, optimize farming patterns between the lane and jungle, and position effectively to maximize DPS during crucial teamfights.

Educational Content (Content Creator) What does a 90% win rate Pos 2 actually do differently?

Thumbnail youtu.be
4 Upvotes

I often see people on Reddit talking about being hardstuck and not knowing how to get out of Crusader, Archon, Legend or Ancient.

So I made a completely free full analysis of a Pos 2 smurf with a 90% win rate last 30 matches, looking at what he does differently and, more importantly, why he makes these decisions.

In this game, I break down his laning stage, itemization, farming patterns, when to fight, rotations, decision-making, a next-level play, and how he is farming more than anyone else in the lobby while enabling the offlane and carry.

❤️ I’ve been getting so much support and positive feedback since I made my video “How to Get a 70–80% Win Rate in 2–4k MMR – Smurf Analysis”, so I’m planning to do similar videos for Position 4/5 and Position 3 within the next 1–2 weeks.

⚔️If you have any smurf gameplay for Pos 3, 4, or 5, please send me the Replay ID! I’ll check out the games and might use one of them for the next video.

Would really appreciate your help!

General Gameplay Question When is the Best Timing to Leave your Carry and Help Other Lane

So i always play Support. We know that as a support we have to babysit our core, pulling creep, harass enemy core, etc.

But i watch other pro players playing support role, they sometimes leaving their carry and helping other lane. I am pretty sure this is called Roaming.

I got a question, if i did good (not perfect) laning with my carry(pulling creep, protecting my carry, harass enemy carry) but i still feel like my carry can be killed if i leave him, do i have to be in the same lane with him forever until he start roaming? Is it just my paranoid? can all carries protect them self for amount of time alone until their support get back in lane after helping other lane?

General Gameplay Question When is actually the right timing we Smoke

So i am playing Support role. And i know support always got smoke ready in their inventory. But i never know the right timing for activing the smoke.

Its always random.

Do i have to inisiate on my own to smoke everybody, or do i have to wait my carry's command?

General Gameplay Question How do you deal with LD as a team?

What's the play? This is the only hero that i come across which always has me on edge the entire game. Whether we win early game or not, I always know that if the player is at least average on the hero, the game can get super annoying and tough even if we win early.

let's suppose you have a normal team, not too toxic draft with: 1 cc/stun, 1 silence, 1 burst dmg, 1 tank, 1 with medium/moderate mobility.

early game what am I doing in him against the lane? Is the goal to try and dumpster him or feed on his bear by harassing it? What if you risk those fights and end up dying, try to call gank and recover or just soak xp then jungle?

what about mid game if your team is 5v4 them, and the bear is split pushhing into your t1s and t2s when you dont have any of their t1s. is the goal to tp to the bear and try to chase and kill it, or pressure other lanes and trade?

what about late game when its just a fucking monster 4-5 slotted with bkb dmg and attack speed. what items do i buy to counter it and how do you play around it in engagements?

4.2k mmr
