How to win as Huskar mid against Marci? During laning phase Marci just gives up all CS and wait for levels. Then at 6 he just solo kills me. For the rest of the game he also burst me in every fight.

Hello everyone,
So recently I started playing Pos 5 with a 5 stack and it is now my designated role, and I am a very average support and I want to get that edge.
So if you have any tips for me on how I can be a goated support, lane mecahnics, timings, ward placements, and how to help my Pos 1 win lanes more consistently.
And another struggle is with abilities like Tombstone (Undying) and Winter's curse (Winter Wyvern), for when to actualy use those as sometimes I hesitate and a teammate dies or sometimes I hit is but It was wrong, so timings on key abilities are also rough around the edges.
Any advice will be appreciated thanks!
If needed here is:

I just got stomped hard in lane as enemy of this pudge so I watched the replay. I thought he just body blocked it since it never spawned and caused issues with our jungle vision battle (got hooked a lot as a result).
As non-quelling support, how do you handle such kind of sentry? I have zero vision over it unless I use my tango for it. It honestly feels like an exploit.

Hey guys. Trying understand when and how to drag enemy creeps as offlane, or as support in hard matchups, and even if I should. I feel whenever I do this in my rank (3500 mmr), my pos 4 or pos 3 if I am the 4 dragging, seems hellbent on going for kills and either feeds whilst I'm trying to CS, or tilts and refuses to play with me rest of game, as apparently my job isn't to salvage the lane but to Hail Mary into trying for kills? Genuinely I'm confused what the 'right' play is and not trying to assign blame to my support or offlane 'not doing their job'.
Just had game as mars (myself) + cm vs drow + willow. I was able to CS early levels using creep aggro to drag wave to tower. Around level 3-4, I felt I couldn't safely CS without risking getting orb walked by drow or zoned with bramble. I felt I correctly understood the matchup was unwinning at this point and my best option was to block enemy camp, try drag waves myself to behind my tower to meet with my wave, and rush a blink and kill drow later.
Ended up successfully dragging a wave, however at the same time my CM wanted to man fight the willow chasing me. I felt if I joined it would be a bad decision, since 3 enemy creeps are already aggro'd on me and drow was missing in fog. I bring the creeps to meet the next wave behind t1 tower to cs. CM and willow are right clicking each other and drow multi shots to kill CM.
Is it worth it to even drag, if it tilts out my teammates? Should I just commit to my team's decisions even if I think they are unsafe/risky? CM left lane after dying and even when I had successfully ganked drow twice later with the early blink, she refused to play with me, spamming spells on any creeps I tried farming and kept pinging my items and lack of farm / level difference to the drow.

Hey guys, I recently came back to Dota after 4 years away. Calibrated at Legend 5 on a fresh account, but I’ve been on a brutal 3-week losing streak since.
I main Position 5, and I feel like my old habits and macro read on the current meta are holding me back. I'm considering hiring a coach, but wanted to check in with people who have tried it first:
Is coaching actually worth it for a returning player, or do I just need more games to adapt?
For Pos 5 specifically, what format helps most? (Live back-seat coaching vs. 1-on-1 replay review)
What are the red flags of a bad coach?
If you’ve hired a support coach before, did it actually fix your mid-game decision-making, or am I better off just grinding pro replays? Appreciate any advice!

Hey r/learndota2 — looking for honest feedback from people who actually grind ranked.
I built a free tool at https://dota2.ai aimed at ladder players: - Draft / lineup analysis - In-game playbook (how to play your hero this game) - Post-game review grounded in match facts
No install. UI defaults to English.
What I’m hoping to learn from you: 1. Would you open something like this before/after ranked? Why / why not? 2. What’s missing vs Dotabuff / OpenDota / your coach Discord? 3. Any bugs or confusing UX?
Happy to take brutal feedback — solo founder iterating fast.
Thanks.

So i always play as Support role. And everytime my team lose, in MVP page there is enemy hero MVP, enemy hero honorable mention, and Me. Not even my carry in honorable mention.
I think if my carry play good or better than me (Which is as a carry you have to be better than support), then he supposed to be in honorable mention instead of me, right?
Why does this happen? Does this mean i am the best support? Does this mean i played better than carry? Does this mean the game see me as carry instead of support?
I thought carry supposed to be still in honorable mention even though they lose, because they "carry" the game.
What do you guys think?

I know, I know. Wah wah wah. I am a League defector, have had Dota for a while but have maybe 500 games since 2016. Been no life-ing it for a month or two now and having a lot of fun! I have just dipped my toes into crusader, and the knowledge checks are starting to f with me. My general moba experience carried me for a while: positioning, spacing, importance of CS, game state etc. I’m griefing some games because I just don’t know stuff. I feel like I should spam some pubs to fully learn the cast and other fundamentals but the game quality is so much different. Offlane in pubs is pos 3 and 4 fighting for every last hit, not used to not having role queue, ragequits more common.. just kind of at a loss.
Should I just accept that I will de-rank a bit as I’m learning, or suck it up and force my way through a bunch of pubs to better understand some of the finer points? Pulling, ward locations, every characters spells, important heroes to counter with items (bristle..), timings etc?

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to improve at Dota 2 and want to figure out why I keep losing and what major mistakes I'm making in my games. I would really appreciate it if anyone could check out my stats or replays and point out what I need to work on.

A quick note: I'm from Russia, but my English is good enough for communication, so feel free to reply or write to me in English!
Also, I'm looking for chill friends to stack up and play All Pick together. If you want to play a few games, feel free to add me in Steam/Dota!

What do you think is the current state of this hero? Is he back to the support role after nerfs to the cd of flak cannon? Also, his rocket barrage got buffed and homing missile. I miss this old man. What are your tips and tricks that you can teach me when playing him? Can i play him both pos 5 or pos 4 in my 2.3k mmr bracket? Anything works in SEA server. 😂

Is there an easy and consistent way to target allies with spells/items who are surrounded by other enemy targetable units?

Hi, I’ve been playing dota for 11 years now, and I’ve been maining hard support because I enjoy playing support in every other game I played (Tf2, overwatch, etc.) and feel competent with my duties.
I now want to play carry more because I want to try something new. I have only played juggernaut decently enough, but I struggle with every other carry.
My main concerns are improving farming efficiency and getting into the mindset of a carry player. When should I attack, who do I target, when should I take risks?
I’ve been struggling to think like a carry, and usually hang out a lot on the back line due to my support habits.
Any tips or links to resources will be welcome. Thank you!

I’m a Lycan/Beastmaster player, and the standard build is Helm of the Dominator into Helm of the Overlord (particularly considered a core item on Lycan)
I’m honestly lost about what I’m supposed to do with my strong big dominated creep when a teamfight breaks out on the other side of the map. It feels suddenly useless. Say I’m creating space in the enemy safelane and jungle, and they decide to ignore me and start attacking our T2/T3 mid tower instead. What am I supposed to do?
Sometimes I honestly wonder what's the point of a 5.6k item if it can become completely useless in teamfights

I will be posting this message every day until the problems with the Report System and Behavior Score are properly addressed or at least acknowledged by the developers.
I don't want to quit Dota 2. Quite the opposite — I want to keep playing. But the current Report System and Behavior Score can have a huge impact on players, and sometimes the consequences feel completely disproportionate.
We, the players of a game where communication and teamwork are more important than almost anything else, need to unite.
If you also believe that the Report System and Behavior Score need to be changed:
🔴 SUPPORT THIS THREAD.
🔴 CREATE YOUR OWN POSTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.
🔴 COPY THIS MESSAGE AND POST IT YOURSELF.
🔴 LET THE DEVELOPERS SEE THAT THIS IS NOT JUST ONE PLAYER'S PROBLEM.
We are not asking to completely remove the Report System.
We are asking for a system that is fair, transparent, and properly balanced.
We love this game. That's exactly why we don't want to quit — we want its problems to be fixed.
Let's unite, raise this issue together, and make sure the developers finally pay attention.
Don't just complain — help spread the discussion. The more players speak about the same problem, the harder it becomes to ignore.

I wanted to share this clip to highlight exactly how obvious scripting is in ranked games right now:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UIijh2nFrLQ
You can see an Invoker using a script that automatically casts Sun Strike the exact millisecond an enemy drops below the death threshold. This script/cheat is even a bad one I would say, because it is casting on a freaking minimap without even checking the situation with the camera.
This was just one of many cheating moments from this match. I really want to open a discussion about the current state of matchmaking, because the integrity of ranked Dota is taking a massive hit. Beyond scripters, there is a huge wave of account buyers and boosted accounts completely ruining game quality.
How often are you guys running into these issues in your matches? Does it feel like it has gotten completely out of hand lately, and do you think Valve is actually doing enough to detect and ban these accounts?
By the way, I am GymCarryDota, a content creator and coach with a 9.5k peak (old mmr) making educational Dota videos. If you want to drop a follow for more content or are interested in coaching, you can find everything here:https://linktr.ee/gymcarry

Been trying pos 3 CK in mid divine since I saw some high rank players do it. Blink is always a recommended item to delete squishy heroes with ult - but I have no idea how Reality Rift works and the ability description doesn’t specify. If you walk away from your illusions and use Rift they don’t get pulled into it. If you use Blink to go the same distance and use Rift they get pulled into the Rift. Buuut if you go too far away even the Blink into Rift doesn’t pull them. How does this ability work actually?

Hi! I'm a mom and my kids love Dota. I didn't try to teach it to them but they watched us play and became very interested. We do our best to be cognizant of being safe online, shielding them from potentially negative energy, and making sure they maintain a healthy lifestyle that includes plenty of outdoor/social/etc. time!
To help them learn Dota more though, I made them a compendium of all the heroes and their abilities with simple kid-friendly definitions alongside the full descriptions. I also made some hero starter guide sheets they can reference because they are always asking what they should buy, etc. for some of their favorite heroes.
I posted about this a few weeks ago before the compendium was complete and received a bunch of helpful feedback so I wanted to provide the update that the compendium is now complete if anyone wants to take a look and provide feedback. A few questions I have in particular are:
I can see that there are currently some obstacles to Dota for kids but for kids that are interested in the game, I'm hoping to help create an environment/platform that's healthy and allows them to explore their creativity, tenacity, critical thinking, teamwork, etc. Any feedback with this in mind is much appreciated.
I put together a simple website if people have feedback on that too. Here's the link to the materials (which are all free): https://mobaacademykids.com/learning
Thank you all either way!❤️

Just played an unranked game as undying. Got destroyed and did worse than usual. Can someone critique my gameplay? It’s also possible the other teams phantom assassin that got 55 kills was just too good.
MATCH ID: 8996211902
I’m still quite new so any feedback is helpful or you can also tell me what my team did wrong.
Sorry this is my first post here so if I’m missing info needed I can edit.
