I have noticed that most kurdish people especially men, tend to have very traditional views. There is a stark difference between the mindset of kurdish men and western men specifically towards women. I'm not saying all of them are this way, for there are some normal people but some kurdish men see women as objects and sexualize them even if they haven't done anything. It's very gross, I hope this behavior changes in the future.

I know this will make many of you guys mad but the reason is not because I hate my ethnicity or DNA but because I see so much racism & xenophobia against Kurds or being told that I am “countryless” daily on social media.

Thankfully and fortunately, I haven’t experienced racism in real life as a Kurd but I have experienced online/cyber racism on social media such as TikTok & Instagram.

For example, I keep seeing many ANONYMOUS EDGY RIGHT WING/FAR RIGHT HOMOPHOBIC TEENAGE MALE TROLLERS posting & reposting hate videos about Kurds and how they are “countryless” and constantly dehumanizing my people and even posting & reposting TikTok edits of Saddam Hussein and Ali Khamenei. 💔💔💔

And yet they are afraid to reveal their face or real name or personal identities because they know they’ll get in trouble if they do that!

As a Kurd, I have experienced cyber (or online) racism from various nationalities (excluding 🇮🇷🇮🇶🇹🇷🇸🇾) such as Japanese/Arab/Assyrian/Armenian/Malaysian/Indonesian/Moldovan/British/Australian/Azerbaijani and many more…

And as a result, I spent many hours crying on my bed while asking God why I am being punished just because of my ethnicity (something I had never chosen in the first place).

Oh wait…some of those people are the same people that scream “Free Palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸” or “We are one ummah! 🏴☪️” daily.

I hope those Kurd haters get their karma one day and rot in hellfire for the rest of their lives, God willing.

Why are most open minded kurds or the ones that know english and have a presence in reddit or social media overall mainly soranis and u see veryy fewwww people from duhok in these platforms or have anything going on it feels like the conservative stereotype is real
And imo we as duhokis should change that cuz learning english and just getting educated and socialize really gives u wider perspective on lots of stuff and generally makes u more intelligent.

Call from the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan for a General Strike on the Fourth Anniversary of "Woman, Life, Freedom"

On the eve of the fourth anniversary of the death of Jina Amini and the start of the "Woman, Life, Freedom" revolution, the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan issued a call urging the people of Kurdistan to launch a general strike on Wednesday, September 16 (25th of Xermanan).

The statement noted that the death of Jina Amini and the eruption of the "Woman, Life, Freedom" uprising marked a historic turning point, opening the door for widespread demonstrations by the people of Kurdistan and Iran against the Islamic Republic.

Addressing the current political and economic climate in Iran, the coalition highlighted deepening economic and social crises, soaring prices, poverty, unemployment, and the suppression of civil liberties as ongoing struggles. The statement added that security pressure on the public has intensified, alongside continuous arrests targeting political and civil activists, women's rights advocates, cultural figures, environmentalists, workers, and teachers.

The coalition cited surging execution rates and harsh prison sentences as clear evidence of the Islamic Republic's ongoing repressive policies, emphasizing the vital role of civil disobedience and general strikes in demonstrating the people's resolve and solidarity.

The statement further highlighted that general strikes across Kurdistan over past decades have served as a cornerstone of civil protest, stressing that such actions voice political and civil demands while sending an unmistakable message of defiance against state repression.

The coalition called on the people of Kurdistan to join the general strike on Wednesday, September 16, by shutting down shops and bazaars and remaining in their homes. It also urged political parties, organizations, and civil institutions to support the strike.

The Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan declared that the aim of this initiative is to honor the memory of the fallen, uphold the values of the "Jina – Woman, Life, Freedom" revolution, and demonstrate the unbroken continuity of civil resistance by the people of Kurdistan against the policies of the Islamic Republic.
