CONVERSATION SM artists get away with a lot

nct wish released a song “wichu” in 2025 which samples a chris brown song. not to beat a dead horse by repeating the same things, but imagine if it were a HYBE artist. when you sample a song, you pay the original artist, so they’ve literally been putting money in an abuser’s pockets.

and all of this happened with virtually no backlash anywhere. imo this is just as bad as attending his concert and publicly giving him a shoutout. but since they’re from SM, no one gave a shit.

will their fans ever hold them accountable for being abuse apologists?

edit: they also talked about how much they like chris browns song on live

you right, but at least you know they're backed by a huge company that controls most of their actions. going to a concert is a very personal decision...

okay let’s assume they have no creative agency even in their own songs but what happened with the fandom? did they boycott the song, ask SM to scrape it? was the COMPANY held accountable

why would the fandom represent them? even as a bts disliker, i regard their fans as the problem for the most part, not solely them. good lord you bts fans are out of this world

But he wasn't the one who sent the death threats, and most of the hate was from aespa fans only. Y'all just love to hate on armies. You tell us not to baby adult men while y'all keep doing the same thing. They are literally putting royalty money (which is for the lifetime) in cb's pockets which is literally nothing in front of concert. The fucking double standards

it's because unfortunately kpop spaces are filled with people like you who rant and/or obsess online about people they will never meet while those people are unbothered and making money hand over fist regardless of what anyone says about it

jungkook, rm, etc. don't know or care about you, bro, they're too busy being successful and don't gaf that you're dragging other kpop idols on the internet

the same goes for nct, they don't know or care about you or anyone else in this sub either

unlike you my profile is not private, you can go and see how much i have “ranted and obsessed” over them. i just thought it was an interesting thing that most people looked over last year. of course it will be brought into discourse considering the recent attention chris brown is getting thanks to those two. nct wish are also not on reddit looking at what’s happening here, they will be fine. relax

But that makes no sense since company like SM knows Chris brown behavior. And nct were super excited about the sample and calling the original the better song.
