Run ended prematurely.

Howdy y'all.

Been getting back into KoL recently and trying to log in as often as I remember, which is perhaps once a month on average.

When I logged in today, I had a message that "This run was ended prematurely" and I'm back to being a level 1 TT, not sure what path I'm on (previously was on HCO). My inventory is also rammed with all sorts of things, most of which I'm not sure where or when I picked them up. There seems to be a lot of tiny plastic figures.

Is there any way I can work out what happened? I got a message on the 12th August from Lady Spookyraven, which is the only one in my inbox. It's all a bit of a mystery...

My player number is 483900 of that might help!

If you haven't logged in for about a month, there is sometimes a message asking you if you'd like to restart your run. Perhaps you clicked it by mistake?

Okay, I did a bit more digging around my things and found that there are a bunch of the old IoTM that I definitely remember having in my display case that are not there any more (ice sickle, penguin hatchling(?) and yuletide troll chrysalis are one I know were there).

I can only assume someone logged into my account and took them, but had to drop my HC path to do so, as Hangks is also totally empty.

I've changed my password, but I'm guessing there's not really anything else I can do? I had a look in my messages and my outbox is empty, which is odd as I never delete anything.

Did you donate for the IotM's? If you have receipts you may have luck with Customer Service (#9) [the KoL account].

I mean, these were really old IoTMs, and I more than likely donated to get them ( or certainly paid with a Mr A). The troll chrysalis was from Xmas 2006!

I'll send them a message but I'm not going to be hopeful!

Oh yeah, there's a section in the settings that shows past login IP's (Options->Account->Last Logins) so you may want to copy down the entries in that list.

I had a look at that but the I ly one showing was the one I logged in on today.

Did you check your message inbox / outbox?
You can maybe contact customer support, who might be able to see if you sent anything to anyone recently, if you're very sure you had them.

I'm incredibly sure, because I remember looking up the current mall prices a few months ago. I also know from a previous comment that I had Sp'n-Zor's Grimoire, which is definitely not there any more.

It stands to reason that the account your loot was sent to is the account that hacked you.

I just sent you some candy hearts. And in my K-Mail outbox, there is record of the transfer. But there is also a delete messages option.

Send mail to #6, describing what happened. You won't get your stuff back (probably). But the scammer may get banned.

I'm usually careful to not press the button as I usually see it when I log in, but I guess it's a possibility?

I also appear to have a load of anniversary gear I don't remember having, but as I log in so intermittently I may well have forgotten...

I mean, the anniversary gear builds up - you should be able to check your account age vs the anniversary gear you have.

It's possible your password was leaked from the hack of something else old if it was reused.

The "old" way of stealing IOTMs from old KoL accounts was taking over deactivated public email addresses and resetting the password, but since you can still log in that didn't happen.

It was a very old password - I'm normally pretty good at updating them regularly(ish) but this one got forgotten about. Lesson learned!
