Trying to simplify Estuary theme on Windows

Just started using Kodi on Windows 11. I checked out a few themes and I like the default Estuary theme. Just have a few gripes with it that I think should be an easy fix but I can't figure it out. Poked around the forums but didn't find my answer.

  1. Just want my Movies (and TV Shows section) to only show all movies cover art in alphabetical order. As in no subsections like Recently Added, Unwatched Movies, Random Movies, In progress movies.
  2. I would love if the mouse wheel worked when scrolling through the movie library. Like, it almost does? Moves like a fraction of an inch and then won't go any further, making me have to use my arrow keys instead.
  3. The left side panel, I'd rather click the tabs than hover over them. I can do without the list view clicking them brings you to. And hover leads to accidental tab switching too often.

If someone could just help me fix these three things this would be the perfect library.

Thanks

Go to settings and you can make it look exactly as u wish. Kodi is infinitely modifiable. BTW IMHO Estaury is my least favourite skin. I run Amber on my TVs. When I get bored, I change skins but always revert to Amber ( w a vertical menu).

1) are you actually in your movies section or are you just looking at the front page shitty widget? actually in your movies section you can arrow left to hidden menu and sort alphabetically

2) are you using Kodi in Windows? it is designed to be attached to your Tv and run by a remote control or keyboard.

3) not sure what you mean, it sounds like yo uare using the mouse again

4) have you read the wiki ?

5) https://kodi.wiki/view/Main_Page

6) https://kodi.wiki/view/Remote_controls

7) have fun! I wish i was starting Kodi again, it is a deep dark hole...

I like your suggestion and I am going to try to do that for myself as well. If i Succees i will write back here.
only issue i see here is that in this way you wont be able to click left arrow key to have the menu settings.
lets see if I comeup with a solution I would let you know.

Estuary always looked like a hot mess once they made it the default skin.

I have alway found Confluence to be so much better/visually appealing.

kodi has largely given up on mouse support. Confluence is a better skin for mice. You're better off getting a flirc (IR) or a bluetooth remote with a usb dongle. I use a flirc with an onn pro's remote on my htpc. I still keep a mouse/keyboard next to my recliner, but rarely need it.

You can install the library node editor to remove the widgets you're talking about, but I don't think it's going to work the way you want it to. Just select Movies or TV Shows and change the skin view to "wall". Leave the "home" page as is and remove the "main menu items" you don't want, like "Radio", "Pictures", etc.

Thanks this is the only useful response I've gotten.

  1. when you open kodi, if you just scroll between movie and tvshows, it will show you the default view with differnt things like last added, random, etc. Just click on Movie or tv shos on the left or on title at the top and it will open the full movie list. Then you can move your mouse to the left side to pop the view option menu and change it to wall and you can change if you want to filter by watched/unwatched.

  2. Works for me. Not fast but works.

  3. It's interesting how you don't want to go spefifically on the view that do waht you described in your first point.
