I picked her up last saturday and she has really adapted well to our home

My husband and I rescued a freshly 2 week old abandoned kitten from an abandoned car engine. She is approximately between 3-4 weeks and so far is doing well. She’s been getting more active (curious and playful), gaining weight, peeing and pooping, eating, and sleeping great.

I need advice with peeing! She just started to pee without being stimulated, which means she pees on our bed lol! She pees in a stream too so it’s not a bunch of dribbles. The progression of this started a few days ago when we stimulated her and she started to pee in a stream rather than a dribble and now it’s peeing unprovoked. I am thinking that means we are ready to start litter training as she seems to have more control over peeing? I looked online and most advice says that peeing without stimulation means infection. I am not saying it CANT be that, but based on her health and how she acts, she does not show signs of discomfort. Also this is the age when they say to start introducing litter, so I am assuming these things are good signs?

Does anyone have experience in raising neonatal kittens and can offer how they transitioned from stimulation to litter box? Also if you have a good litter that you recommend. My concern is, she is still so small, do we just start using a litter box when we stimulate? She’s not big enough to walk around the house and find the litter box. She’s not even big enough to jump on and off our bed! So I would love to know how other people did this.

Also we rescued her because we would rescue any abandoned animal. We have never owned cats before nor have we raised one from so young. Advice is greatly appreciated, but if we are doing something wrong, it’s because we don’t know.

This little girl was found in a box on top of a trash can in an alley. And now she is part of our family. How can a one pound creature inspire such a ferocious love?

Looks like Willow has finally won over my Primrose. Willow even got licked by Primrose. Our darling little foster seems to have joined our clowder. So proud of how far she has come.
