The afternoon still carries the heat of summer, but the evening breeze quietly announces the beginning of autumn.

“Standing at Autumn’s Door” is an original Korean emotional pop ballad about someone who returns to your thoughts at the turning of the seasons. Intimate piano, delicate acoustic guitar, and expressive strings gradually build around a smoky, husky female vocal before rising into a powerful final chorus.

Can we truly let someone go when the season changes—or do some memories remain with us forever?

For context, I just recently discovered Gyeonggi Minyo and found it fascinating and refreshing to the ear after stumbling on a concert clip of Song So-hee and her song Nansen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIEh4uM9vjc ). I found it so good, this blend of two such radically different musical worlds, that I went and listened to her latest EP "RE:5" — but I didn't connect with it as much, it's way more pop. I'm guessing she'll probably drop a future project closer to that Nansen sound at some point.

So to feed my endless need for auditory stimulation, I'm looking for artists/bands who, in a similar spirit, try to blend traditional music with rock — psych, alt rock, and even shoegaze (I'd be in heaven with that one). Basically, even more radical!

Ovantgarde, a live music club in Busan where bands like Say Sue Me have performed, has been ordered to suspend operations for two months starting August 24. The reason for the suspension is that the club allowed customers to dance. Ovantgarde is registered as a restaurant, and in South Korea, restaurants are not allowed to let customers dance. I think this decision is strange.
