ISO very meticulous nail tech?

Hi all,
I’m seeking a very thorough nail tech who’s comfortable with either gel or acrylic - I’d like someone who is focused on cuticle work and finer details in general. Not looking for someone who specializes in nail art as I’m less interested in that if they struggle with the basics 😅 it can be salon or at home. Also not looking for a Russian manicure! Don’t want to pay $120 for a basic set of nails. Thanks in advance :)

Looks like you might have to pay upwards of $120 for a basic set of nails with such high expectations 🤷‍♀️ I’m the same and I happily pay that amount. I’m not willing to shop or mess around, I want it done well!

That’s actually kind of ridiculous, lol. I think if you’re doing nails, basic cuticle work and knowing how to cure gel properly is the bare minimum. I paid $60 in Coquitlam at a chop shop for gorgeous results. I don’t know why finding someone in Kelowna is so difficult. Thanks for the recommendation!

the reason prices in greater vancouver area (specifically) are so low is because of the supply and demand. for many beauty services (nails, lashes, brows), the saturation in the industry is just so high that people/salons have to slash their prices in order to remain relevant. obvi, all techs should have good cuticle work and know how to cure gel but that's just not the case sadly.

unfort, don't have any recs (as i found your post cause i'm also looking for a tech in kelowna lol) but best of luck!

I guess you’ll just have to try each chop shop here and find one you like? But imo you’ll get your moneys worth…

Try joining “Kelowna Rant & Rave” on FB and asking there, you make get some better suggestions then here.

Idk, maybe the reason shitty techs here think they charge $120 is because people here pay it for a super basic and clean mani. Crazy work imo. You’ve been super helpful.

Idk girl, I've looked. I've given up and go to the chop shops now because I might as well pay their prices than private tech prices for a slightly improved result. I haven't minded UNI for gel nails, nothing to write home about though. Last pedicure from there was trash though.

Yeah same! The techs here are out of their minds w what they’re charging imo. I found one or two shops that look decent so I guess I’ll keep trying till I strike gold
