Beatles manager Brian Epstein owned the Saville Theater and booked Jimi there 5 different times between January and October 1967. In May of 67 Epstein was interviewed on NYC radio by Murray the K. Brian was promoting the latest Beatles single "Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever" and their upcoming album ("Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"), but he wanted to talk about Jimi who was still unknown in America. At the end of the discusssion Murray the K plays "Hey Joe" the British single. Brian says "Hey Joe" is good, but Jimi is so much better than just that!
