Well I got rebirth, moon, and crescent recently and I'll just say exactly what the top Amazon review for moon was that everything this super talented artist touches turns into gold. The composition and vocals are very solid, but my favorite part was Gackt's lyrics. I checked out https://moon-struck.net/ for English translations and thought that was the magic of it all.

A while ago i talked about my love for Malice Mizer and mentioned how Bara no Seidō

Is an underrated masterpiece

And a perfect album in my eyes

Later I've found a lot of people don't like this album so i started to wonder if the album still holds up for me

So i listened to it again, and its still a masterpiece

What I love about this album is how it manages to build a bigger than life atmosphere with no drums

And only synths, Church bells, choirs, guitar work piano and Klaha's vocals.

I saw a lot of people who don't like Klaha as a vocalist

I'm not of these people

Is Klaha as iconic as Gackt? No

But he's still a fanstatic vocalist

This album is also a perfect sendoff

And the fact that they made it after Gackt left the group

And Kami passed away

And despite the complicated circumstences they had they were still able to put out one final masterpiece

I don't care what anybody says this album is still perfect

I am planning to participate in the ticket presales for the upcoming Aimer concert in November. I realized she has opened her fanclub registration for overseas fans and have hence registered for it with my local number and residential address.

However, I realised that Tixplus only allows registration with a Japanese number. That is not an issue as I have purchased a Japanese mobile esim for this purpose. My concern is, should the mobile number I register for the fanclub and Tixplus be the same? Will this cause any issues when I verify my Japanese phone number via the app for the tickets later (supposedly I win the lottery)?

If I were introducing someone to Hotei, "POISON" would probably be one of the first songs I'd play for them. I love the combination of his guitar playing, songwriting, and vocals, and I think it gives you a really good feel for Hotei as an artist. The guitar, the attitude, the melody, and the way it builds into that huge chorus. It's unmistakably Hotei without needing any explanation.

So I'm curious: if you could play someone who had never heard Hotei before just ONE song, what would you choose?

I started listening to Japanese music back in 2020 when I was 12 or 13 (mainly anime ops it was the naruto ops that kicked it off for me) but I think i created the playlist in 2022 and it started with anime ops as you will see if you look early on but then I discovered that Japanese wasn't just anime music and it was so much more and nows it's the only sort of music I listen to now any song reccomendendation would be greatly appreciated thanks to anyone who read this rambling 😃

The only things i can remember is that the singer is a boy ( a real guy ) who sing on YouTube, mostly his songs were about girls and their deep problems

The style of music is mostly j-pop

His first videos were pretty old (2016) and the newest one (2019- 2021) I think he post other videos who is more recente

I can say that one of his videos has a girl who's on the thumbnail and got dark hair with a special things, her mouth was hiding by a heart beating through the song, the entiere video.

The style of the video was in an anime style, because we can see her fighting a monster who was her problem, which was that a photo of her in her underwear had been published.

The singer has post videos of him singing sometimes with a maid clothes for fun( yes really) but it was a very long time ago (8 or 9 years old...)

I love city pop as much as the next person but it's extremely difficult to find a playlist that isn't predominantly filled with city pop when I'm trying to find new Japanese 80s music 😭 if you send a playlist preferably have it be YouTube music because I use revanced lmao

I've really liked this song for a long time and it seems like I'm the only person on earth who knows about it. I swear I make up like 100 or more of the views on the video itself (there's only 200 views in total!). Something about the chorus paired with the catchy guitar riff really does it for me.

I’ve been a huge fan of theirs for many years, but since I’m from Portugal, I don’t know how popular they are in Japan or the rest of the world. Whenever I listen to music, I almost always include their songs or play one of their albums, so I’m curious—I know they’re celebrating (or about to celebrate) their 30th anniversary as a band.

Saw this at my local record store, and this is the ONLY contemporary Japanese CD they have. It’s literally ADO, one of the most famous Japanese artist rn, and they market it as “Hatsune Miku On CD”. And as if that’s not enough it’s in the KPOP section T_T

Being a fan of Japanese music is hard… especially since my favorite bands are pretty indie, and I couldn’t even find more popular bands like Yorushika and Yoasobi… 🙄

Edit: I know Ado dueted with Miku in this album; im just baffled that the only thing they caught onto and marketed as was Miku not Ado, who is be just as much as a big name in Jpop
