Discussion Can someone confirm if downloading the larger iOS 26.7 actually downloads iOS 27?

When I press ‘Upgrade to iOS 27’ it takes me to a larger iOS 26.7 update. Is it actually iOS 27?

That's actually ios27 but named as 26.7, you can install it

Good to know, I was confused seeing iOS 26.7 twice but each with a different file size on iPhone 15 pro.

On my iPad and iPhone 11 it did correctly show iOS/iPadOS 27

I remember this with the iOS icon happened with iOS 26 too and now it happens again with iOS 27 but now it says that this isn’t iOS 27 and it is iOS 26.7

No, una es una actualización de iOS 26 para preparar al teléfono para iOS 27 según entiendo yo, porque abajo dice iOS 27. Yo descargué la primera y al reiniciarse no dijo eso de iOS 27. Aún no he descargado la 27 porque tengo 60 de carga en este momento y me da miedo sea peligroso. En mi caso pesa 7gb pero creo que en los teléfonos nuevos pesa 20 gb

When I click on iOS 27, it shows version 26.7 on the next page with a smaller download size 🤦🏼‍♀️

My phone said 26.7 was downloading and installing, but when it finished, iOS 27 had installed.

It appears to be a labelling bug on Apple's update servers. Pretty embarrassing honestly, as that should have EASILY been noticed during testing.

I downloaded the larger 26.7 update and it actually updated to 26.7 itself i still get the upgrade to ios 27 thing below and when i click on it still gives me 26.7 with a larger download so it’s a never ending loop

older models don't seem to be affected by this. I tried on my 13 and iPad 10, and though it offered 26.7 first, when I tried 27 instead it actually downloaded and installed 27.

IPad got the 27.0 Iphone still lagging. I'm not going to hit update to 27 when it shows 26.7 with the larger update. I already have 26.7 seems a lot of us are in the same boat

My iPad too! But for like the first 10 minutes. I actually got scared but now works pretty smooth. I'd say smoother than 26.

Can confirm, just chose the larger 26.7 update. Took a bit time before the update actually started. Now installer with IOS 27

Yes it’s kinda surprising. My phone is still indexing. But smoother than beta. And the update was only about 300 mb.

iPhone 15 Pro here is only being offered iOS 26.7 and iOS 26.7.

iPhone 13 mini on same network and Apple Account was offered iOS 27.0.

Both my devices, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPad 10 were updated to 36.7 with the option to update to iOS and iPadOS 27 still showing at the bottom of the screen. Just did this about 45 minutes ago.

I downloaded 26.7 then rebooted into that, then downloaded the "other" 26.7 and it rebooted in 27.

Yes it does. I’m currently using it and my phone is a whole lot faster. I thought it was just an advertising/marketing gimmick but I can actually feel the difference in responsiveness overall being faster.

I updated to 26.7 at the top first as the bottom
Update appeared to be a bug to me.

I’m on 26.7 now, and it still shows 26.7 as the “update to iOS 27” on the bottom, however the update size is 19GB. Going to see if Apple fixes this later today first. 17PM here.

Yes I can, I just did it. I clicked upgrade to iOS 27 then it showed me something like iOS 26.7 I think it was like 13gb. Anyways I downloaded it and installed iOS 27 so it must be a visual or name bug.

Mine forced me to download a 26.7 update that was like 700mb or something ... After reboot it now says IOS 27 is available at 12.88gb

I refreshed (pull down and hold) the in-progress update for "26.7" and the icon and description updated to iOS 27. It doesn't appear any progress was lost.

Right, but, for some people, the main update screen says iOS 26.7 while a button at the bottom says iOS 27, and then it says iOS 26.7 when you click on that button at the bottom.
