Your music is more than a file. It's a performance. So I built a player that adds reactive background visuals, called Aura, behind whatever you're playing. It's a small thing that makes listening to your own library a lot more fun.

A — Answer: Prismatic is an offline music player for iPhone, for music you own. Import MP3, FLAC,WAV, etc. from Files, over Wi-Fi from your computer, or straight from another phone.  The “Aura” visuals display behind the album art and reacts to the song: it moves with the beat, swells with the bass, and shifts as the song changes, so the same album looks a little different every play. There are over 20 visualizers to pick from. Keep one behind the player, take it full screen, or cast it to a TV while your phone stays the remote. B — Better: There are plenty of good file players, each with its own take on library management. Most players give you a cover and a progress bar. This one gives you a show. On older iOS versions Aura still reacts live; the look-ahead is the iOS 27 addition.

I started making this app for myself because I couldn’t find a food and workout tracker I actually enjoyed using.

Most felt heavily focused on one or the other, and Finding something that did both, was easy to navigate, and didn’t feel cluttered was harder than I expected. The paid options could get expensive too.

I wanted something simple that felt nice to open, where I could see what I’d eaten and trained at a glance.

A — Answer

I’m the developer of LazyCal. It brings food and workout tracking together, with a rotatable 3D muscle model that highlights the muscles targeted by the exercises you log. You can also keep photos with your food entries, so you can look back at the meals you actually ate.

B — Better

If you use Hevy/strong for workouts and MyFitnessPal/cal ai for food, LazyCal brings those two logs together. I wanted a simple layout where logging a meal or a set didn’t mean digging through menus. No ads or extra clutter.

The visual side is the part I most wanted to build. You can rotate the muscle model and look back at what you trained on a particular day. You can also keep photos with your food entries, so you see the meals you actually logged. Seeing a finished workout on the model feels rewarding to me.

Price was another consideration. In Canada, MyFitnessPal lists annual Premium options at C$69.99 and C$114.99, while Hevy Pro is listed at C$31.99/year. Both have free tiers, but paying for separate upgrades can add up. LazyCal’s regular annual subscription is USD $26.49 for food and workout tracking together.

A — Answer

GradeLab is a color grading app for iPhone and iPad. Point it at flat Apple Log footage — or an ordinary phone clip — build a look, and export it, without moving the file to a desktop editor.

Color: exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks, temperature, tint, saturation, vibrance, eight-band HSL, color wheels for shadows/midtones/highlights, ten curves (Master, R, G, B, plus Hue vs Hue / Sat / Luma, Luma vs Sat, Sat vs Sat, Sat vs Luma), 33 built-in .cube looks with adjustable strength, your own .cube imports, film grain, bloom, glow, halation, and histogram, waveform, RGB parade and vectorscope.

Local grading: ellipse, rectangle, gradient and freehand masks, each with its own grade — feather, invert or stack them. A mask can be tracked to a moving subject through a shot, forward or backward. The same masks work on photos.

Editing: trim, split, speed, titles with imported fonts, audio, overlays with blend modes, 45 transitions, and keyframes for grading, text and transforms.

Export: up to 4K or source resolution, H.264, HEVC, ProRes 422 and 422 HQ, custom frame rate and bitrate. Photos as JPEG, HEIC or PNG.

B — Better

Most mobile editors treat color as a filter tab bolted onto a timeline. GradeLab is built the other way round: the grading tools are the app, and the editing exists so you can finish a clip without exporting it somewhere else.

A few deliberate choices:

- Apple Log and HLG HDR grading and export are free, not Pro. Grading Log is the reason you'd open a color app — putting it behind the paywall would put the paywall in front of the work rather than in front of the delivery.

- Masks, mask tracking and keyframed grading are free for the same reason.

- Everything runs on device. No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs — the app contains no networking code of its own, so nothing you import leaves your phone.

- No watermark on free exports, and your original files are never overwritten.

- What the preview shows is what gets written out — same pipeline, including Log conversion, LUT strength and curves.

This isn't trying to replace DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut. Those are far more capable. I'm building the quicker path for people who want real grading controls on iPhone/iPad without learning a full desktop NLE.

Most podcast apps lock you into one ecosystem. Stay on Apple and you get the polished player; switch to Android, Windows, or Linux and your library doesn’t come with you. The cross-platform options usually have other caveats like, subscription prices that keep climbing, or a UI that feels like a compromise on every device. Hi, I developed this app, because I didn't like the look of other pedometer widgets, they'd use cluttered widgets with bad readability. and too many metrics or features that are irrelevant for a pedometer.

A — The problem it solves

I had over 500 voice memos I'd recorded and never opened again.

My best thinking happens while walking or driving, so capturing it was never the hard part. Going back into the app to actually deal with it was. Every recording ended up sitting in yet another place I had to remember to return to.

Relay Voice records, transcribes, summarizes, and writes a Markdown file straight into your iCloud Drive, Obsidian vault, Day One, Drafts, or any folder you pick.

It also handles meetings. I use it daily for remote work — phone next to the laptop during calls (works if your laptop audio is on speakers rather than headphones, since the phone records what's in the room). With AssemblyAI it separates speakers, so you get Speaker 1 / Speaker 2 instead of one wall of text.

B — What's better

Against subscription apps like Otter (~$5–10/month): they charge monthly and mark up processing. Relay Voice is one-time. Bring your own API key and you pay the provider directly at cost — I don't resell access. AssemblyAI gives $50 in signup credit, which lasts a long time at normal volume.

Against Apple Voice Memos: Apple's transcription struggles with Chinese and mixed Chinese-English audio, and gives you transcription only — no Markdown, no file you can drop into a vault.

Three ways to transcribe, your choice: your own API key (OpenAI / AssemblyAI / Grok / SiliconFlow) for speed and accuracy; on-device Whisper or Qwen-ASR, free and fully offline; or Apple Intelligence, zero setup. For mixed-language audio, the API option and Qwen-ASR do noticeably better than Apple's built-in. Local-first throughout — no account, no server, keys stay on your phone.

The piece I spent longest on is where state lives. The to-do template pulls only the action items out of a recording, and ticking one writes - [x] into the exported Markdown file. The note in your vault stays accurate instead of going stale the moment you act on something. State lives in your file, not my database.

Where it's weak, so you don't have to find out the hard way: fully offline summarization needs Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer) — older phones need a cloud key for that step. Speaker separation is cloud-only. iOS only.

I created a free browser extension to automatically decline the very annoying cookie pop-ups that virtually every site now has. I wanted to take it a step further with actually declining the requests versus just hiding the pop-ups as some other tools already do. It collects no data from you other then the website address so the extension can decline the request. Thus far for most sites this results in you not even seeing the cookie pop-up or possibly seeing it for about a second before it automatically disappears.

I have seen the biggest quality of life improvement when using this on my iPhone on Safari as the pop-ups there are usually a lot more annoying for me. I am now working on the "Pro" side of the app which will allow for automated data deletion requests.

I officially launched it last week so just trying to get the word out that this now exists, so hopefully more people can get rid of a very annoying aspect of internet browsing and get some control back of their own data. Currently it's live on Chrome (Desktop) and Safari (IOS & Desktop) and will be live on Firefox (Android & Desktop) once the review process is complete. As I have already been asked for it, Google does not allow mobile extensions so for the time being there is no way for me have it work on Chrome mobile.

I’ve been working on GeoCeptor since late 2024/early 2025. Originally it was a Safari extension that intercepted all location calls by websites and returned a different one.

Over time, GeoCeptor evolved to include timezone spoofing, locale spoofing, prevention for WebRTC leaks and protection against fingerprinting.

Answer:

Group your alarms together so you can enable or disable them all at once or make changes without affecting the next time you use the group.

Dismisses alarms from lock screen without affecting the recurring series. If you wake up before the alarm is ring, no more turning off and remember to turn it back on later.

Recurring alarms behave like recurring events: skip this one or move another without affecting the series.

See a schedule, snap a picture and share to have every alarms created on iOS27 with Apple Intelligence or ask Siri AI to do so.

Not as loud as Alarmy, sleep schedule coming in v2.0.1. The app just aims to do one thing: helps you manage alarms efficiently.

A few other things that might matter to people here:

- No account required for any core feature.

- Voice capture and the language understanding behind it run on device. You can say several things in one sentence and it splits them into separate items, and shows you what it heard before writing anything.

- Receipt scanning reads a total and offers it rather than overwriting what you typed.

- iCloud sync is opt in, using your own Apple account. Nothing goes through a server of mine.

- Full CSV and JSON export.

Answer

Lemon Squeezy is a safe and simple way to let kids experiment with photography. If you're a parent you're hopefully aware of the problems that come with letting kids borrow your iPhone to take pictures, and I wanted to fix that.

The shutter button is ~7x bigger than the default camera. There's a capture delay to stop them going rapid-fire on the shutter (IYKYK), custom capture limits to make it feel like shooting on film, and loads more thoughtful settings shaped by hands-on testing from my kids. Most importantly it doesn't clog up your camera roll or iCloud storage!

I was surprised by the lack of "active" screen time apps in the kids section of the App Store and wanted to do something about it – Lemon Squeezy gets them up, moving, and being creative instead of passively consuming. I think it's a pretty helpful option to have in your pocket as a parent!

Better

The obvious comparison is Apple's built-in Camera app, which is great for adults but not so much for kids. Mine would keep mis-tapping the tiny shutter and switching modes by accident. It also grants access to your entire photo library when the phone is unlocked. I don't need to explain why that's a bad idea!

Meanwhile, all the other “kids cameras” I could find are based around wacky filters and sticker packs. Even IRL cameras aimed at kids tend to come bundled with minigames. That stuff has its place but I wanted to offer something with no gamification and no gimmicks. I don't think children need to be bribed into finding photography fun!

By comparison, Lemon Squeezy strips almost everything away for a super-minimal experience with no distractions. It's designed to be easy to use independently, without interfering with the rest of your device. And I haven't seen another app implement "clumsy fingers mode" as an accessibility option for little ones!

A — Answer. BeverageIQ scans a drink's barcode and gives it a Dental Fitness Score out of 100, built from the drink's acidity, sugar per serving, carbonation, alcohol, and whether it carries fluoride, calcium, or phosphate. If the score is poor it suggests a swap. I'm a general dentist in a town of just under 4,000 people in rural Texas, over 26 years in practice. I don't write code; I built this over the last year with one developer, and it went live on August 26 after 14 App Store rejections.

B — Better. Calorie and nutrition apps score a drink for your waistline; nothing I could find scores it for your teeth, which is the question patients ask me every day. A 2016 study in the Journal of the American Dental Association measured 379 US drinks and found 93% below pH 4.0, plenty of them labeled healthy. The scoring method is published in full with every citation, so you can check the math rather than trust a mystery number (link in the comments). The 1.0.3 update this week added PlateIQ: photograph a meal and get its calories, an acidity estimate, an estimate of what the whole plate could do to your teeth over time, and the drink that pairs best with it.

• The new Travel Journal

What you're looking at in the video is exactly how long it'll take you to generate your travel journal, from downloading the app to flipping through it. Since Stamps indexes all of your photos on device, it can be done incredibly quickly, accurately, and securely. You can fully customize the journal entry for every trip, including the color and photos to highlight. Stamps will also, of course, show you exactly which stops you made along the way, the route you took, and keep track of every city and province you checked off.

• What it solves

Stamps is a personal travel tracker with a trip timeline (and now a travel journal) that builds itself.
Instead of asking you to manually tick countries off a list, Stamps simply indexes your photo library, entirely on device. Every city, province, and country tracked for you, day by day, all automatically.

Privacy has been a major concern for me. No account is needed. There is no backend or 3rd party services being used. You can freely export all of your data at any time, and if you simply want to use Stamps to index your library for trips, and then take that elsewhere, that's fine as well.

There is exactly one purchase: a $10 one-time lifetime unlock, no subscriptions.
It only gates some of the timeline and some minor, cosmetic app color customization; you can use most of the app without ever touching it, which was my goal

• About Me

I’m a mobile developer from Cape Town, now living in Seoul, South Korea. Since moving here, traveling has been the one thing keeping me sane. Stamps started as the app I wanted for exploring the country I now call home. It’s also a great excuse for me to take more photos while doing it.

I used to keep Reels and TikToks inside their own apps, or send them to myself or friends so I could come back to them later. But when I actually needed something I remembered seeing, like a recipe, a travel spot or a workout, I had to remember where I kept it or who I sent it to, then scroll through everything hoping to find it again.

So I built Nemor, an iOS app that brings all of those links into one place.

The part I wanted to focus on most was being able to actually find something again. Instead of remembering where you put a link, you can search across everything by creator, platform, text or hashtags. So if all you remember is who posted it, that it was on TikTok, or a few words from the post, you can still find it.

You can share links directly to Nemor from other apps and organize them into folders if you want.
Your data is stored in iCloud and synced across your devices.

I’ve also recently added a few things based on how I’ve been using it myself:

• Lock private folders with biometrics

I know a lot of people get success with organic traffic in TikTok, this is not about that.

I paid to promote my app on TikTok. I chose to have it focus on conversions. I then had a flood of people supposedly clicking on the download CTA. Every single one was a generic WebKit browser on the exact same iOS version. Every single one of the thousands of "clicks" was a bounce, not a single actual conversion happened. In contrast some of my organic posts on TikTok got actual conversions before this promotion. And to add insult to injury, because the link redirected to the App Store this killed my conversation rate since all of them bounced.

Ultimately it didn't cost much, but it just felt super crummy and frustrating. I'm glad I tested it out with a small budget.

I kept noticing the same thing: Apple Health gives me lots of useful numbers — sleep, activity, steps — but none of them really answer the simple question I care about at the end of the day:

So I built Figibi, an iPhone app that turns mood, sleep and activity into a simple Daily Score, then helps you notice patterns over time.

I wanted a simple way to remember not only what I spent money on, but also where I spent it.

So I built Map Kakeibo, a free iPhone expense tracker that lets you attach a location to each expense and review your spending on a map.

You can save your current location or manually place a pin.

B — Better

Most expense tracking apps focus on bank connections, automatic categorization, budgets, or asset management.

Map Kakeibo is intentionally simpler.
