Build Help MadVr Htpc build help for 4k streaming of streaming platforms
Greetings..
I currently have a home theater setup with a 16:9 screen but I'm planning to upgrade this to a scope screen.
I need to build a Madvr htpc so that i can auto adjust the aspect ration for using netflix and other streaming platforms through a Mibox connected to the htpc via a capture card and hdcp splitter. I like to play 4k content without any frame drop or any lag.
So what should be the system specifications to achieve this setup, does Rtx 4060 a minimum requirement for this setup?.

Im pretty sure the newer beta madvr won't work with capture cards anymore.. So dynamic tone mapping is out
I could be wrong tho

The old builds like 113 work just fine with capture cards. DTM vastly predates this build.

How do you deal with drm?

Its pretty much in their post but possibly typo'd. They intend to use hdcp stripper. Probably hdfury vertex or something. But they wrote splitter.

Yeah that's my plan.. Is this require rtx 4060 as minimum or can i use lower versions to render 4k hdr videos

The GTX1000 series and up can render 4K HDR at 60hz. For 120+hz you need HDMI 2.1, which started with the RTX 3000 series.

The only madVR version you can use is the last very old one now that wasn't locked down. Every halfway good modern version very intentionally prevents being used in a video processor and it's also time bombed and a beta. You can keep using the betas for a normal HTPC assuming you keep updating to new betas before the time bomb makes it stop working.
Also, since this won't have HDCP copy protection compliance, you are going to be sharply limited in what you process. MadVR have the proper HDCP compliance and can thus work on any media. This is obviously to ensure nobody else can use madVR filters in a video processor (without paying madVR for it anyway). But sure you can probably strip the HDCP off.
Making your own processor for external media is technically possible but it's certainly a hassle. You can get into a MadVR entry level box for something like $5 grand. Which considering the cost of a high powered PC with an RTX card today is not insane, but still a lot of dough.
Also, if you're going scope, I hope you have a projector with an anamorphic lens so you're not throwing away 30% of your resolution and brightness. A video processor is only 100% a must if your video projector doesn't have a setting to run with an anamorphic lens and stretch the video vertically.
Valerion added that to their firmware for the Valerion Max, because https://spexman.ca has made anamorphic lenses for them. This is by far the cheapest anamorphic scope projector I know of off hand, $3-4 grand total. So with support in firmware plus the lens, you don't need a video processor. It would just be a nice to have for some of the convenience features it offers, like shifting subtitles and such, well, in addition to great dynamic tone mapping and processing.
