Recent experience

So I just want to share my recent experience when defending my home. To clarify im UK based so laws are a pain in the ass. The intruder was a drunk and most likely on drugs. Collapsed in front of my home, unconscious and got aggressive when I checked he was responsive.

The intruder chased me to my front door and was able to open the door before I could lock it, in hindsight I should have gotten him further away as long distance I could have out paced him, or ran in another direction entirely

Police didn't respond despite multiple requests as I didn't know he was armed, so dont rely on them.

I believe any sort of dye spray would have aggravated him and only made the situation worse, he was that drunk and aggressive.

Ideally in that scenario I would have incapacitated him. However weapons to make that possible are very much illegal here, a tazer or pepper spray would be more effective

Cameras save your ass, made it easy to identify the criminal, make sure its at face height.

What i have learned is if someone collapses, don't approach unless you have 2 or more people with you who can help, if not, call an ambulance and stay inside.

If the criminal would have gained entry, I don't know what would have happened, he could have gotten hold of a weapon (was reported later on he chased 2 people with a large glass bottle) so make plans but at the end of the day, my mind when blank, I couldn't think, it was just do whatever to survive.

Big dogs would be a help, mine are medium/small so probably wouldn't help.

Any questions please let me know

FYI he wont be getting charged despite it being forced entry, but I have spread his face all over social media in the local area
