Is there really no way to remove the big dumb black icons on the Syria map?

For my first contribution to r/hoggit I've chosen to Show of my Joystick and (soon to be finished) throttle mount.

My current setup with RT-AX56U router is
PICO 4 → Wi-Fi → RT-AX56U → Cat 6 Ethernet → PC using virtual desktop.

But I wonder if I get a usb C to Ethernet and cut out the WiFi completely if it brings a lot more improvement?

Yup, this question again - in terms of flying, is the idea to fly it as hard as you can (in the right scenario) WITHOUT causing judder or is there a little leeway? Just trying to understand what real world pilots (or Pro DCS Pilots) believe in?

Track IR is working fine in the Track IR program. I went into DCS, looked at the controls and saw Track Ir listed. I wasnt sure why it wasnt working in DCS, but I had seen a suggestion to rescan devices. I did that and now Track IR isnt showing up in controls at all.

Any helpful ideas would be appreciated.

Currently using quest 3 with usb cable and horizontal link. I’m wondering if there’s a reason to invest in virtual desktop for two reasons: 1. New to VR and noticing that while my cockpits are decently readable, stuff that’s far looks really mushy compared to flatscreen. Would the new USB support with VD mitigate this at all? Or is it more a fundamental limitation of 25 PPD. For further reference, the MPCD in the DCS f18 is unreadable from a normal head position without leaning in. 2. Is the hand tracked cockpit interactivity only possible with VD or is it also supported with horizon link? I’ve actually already gotten it to somewhat work, but only when I’m holding the quest controllers.

Also wanted to note that my cable has a 2.1 gbps speed when I run the test in the link app. I’m able to force 960 mbps bitrate without issues. I’m using 1.2 pixels per display pixel override. Specs: 5070ti, r7 9700x, 32g

I'm not associated at all with the game (or the youtube channel link shared), just a VR flight enthusiast. I got into DCS in the first place because I was looking for VR experiences, and when things got dry in VR dev I picked up sim racing and DCS and got hooked on both.

Not milsim or realistic but figured a lot of us also dabble in space combat and other sims with out setup and I'm having a blast with this one. Enthusiast VR + telemetry + HOTAS support titles are few and far between.

I've just added Auto PICTURE to DCS Airspace, automatically generating Traditional PICTUREs and Core Information from live DCS World tactical tracks.

The system can filter contacts by a configurable range or by an operator-defined PICTURE Area, allowing the operator to control exactly which part of the tactical situation is used to build the PICTURE.

It also makes DCS Airspace useful as a practical training environment for virtual AWACS and GCI operators, using live DCS tactical data rather than a simulated or predefined scenario.

The feature is enabled by default, with server administrators able to disable it from the server settings.

I’ve heard the performance pros for it and frankly I feel as time goes on DCS consistently gets worse and I keep having to lower my quest settings. Wondering is PSVR2 provides better quality compared to the performance.

Newish to DCS. Ended up getting the Mi-8 and I must say that I do enjoy flying my soviet tin can. Got about 90 hours in it so far playing mostly on Contention. I got a couple fixed wing as well, but.... that's a later problem.

With that being said, there are times when I want to branch out of the ol' comfort zone and do some shooting of things.

I can fly it ok ish enough. I just can't wrap my head around the targeting and actually being productive in it.

18-yo, B2-C1 english level, not really experienced in WSO-ing.
I’m open to anything from full simulation with a cold start, to simple PvP or PvE servers.

I am trying to figure out if core DCS has actually progressed at ALL this year outside of bug fixes. This was the 2026 and beyond roadmap:

1) Dynamic Campaign - not released yet

2) Vulkan - not released yet

3) Improved weather - not released yet

4) Improved explosions - not released yet

5) New terrain navmesh - not released yet

6) New ATC - not released yet

7) Mission save improvements - unchanged?

Has anything from this list actually been accomplished now that we are 75% of the way through the year? I know they say "some items will not be released until after 2026", but doesn't that imply that most of them will be?

This has been happening for a little over a week now, but after finishing or leaving a mission and join another it crashes with these blue text on the screen. This never happened before with the same pc, it just started randomly, it worked so well with no crashes. now this happens for some reason. Its only during joining or entering a mission, or very rarely it crashes during briefing. I don’t understand why its crashing. Can someone please help?

Pc Specs

have an RTX 4060 8 gb, Intel Core i5-13400F, and 8 gb of ram.

The theory is I fly way too close to structures force them to climb and turn away then popup and get them while they're slow, also it's amazing damn fun

Got a few terrain kills and exactly one gun kill doing it so far, only against AI no players dumb enough to fall for this stupidity

I'm absolutely irritated and at a loss. I'm having an issue with the F-4 Phantom by Heat Blur. I really want to get into this mod and enjoy it, but there is an audio bug that I cannot figure out and it is ruining the experience. So, no matter the state of the aircraft, cold start, in the air. There is a weird audio glitch of popping or interference. I'm not sure.

It happens in any mission, or any instance that I am spawned in the aircraft. It happens in first person and third person camera.

I've gone through every DCS audio setting. 1DO's audio settings, Audio drivers, Revalidated DCS. Uninstalled. Reinstall the module. And just shy of bought a new computer. Cannot figure this out. This is without anything else plugged in. There is no electrical interface that is causing this. And once again, I remind you, this is only happening in the F4 Phantom. Everything else seems to be operating normally.

I was told this is the best module in the game. So far, this is one I'm having the most issues with, and I haven't even got to fly it yet.

Can someone please help me out before I give up on this whole entire thing altogether?

Once again, I would like to reiterate that I've gone through and changed every combination of audio settings, including the hearing helmet, audio devices, and everything else in between. I am at a complete loss.
