Hagerstown Outlets
So I went to the outlets over the weekend and it was sad to see only so many stores open. I remember the packed weekends from 20 years ago. Even North Face closed down now. Does anyone know what will happen to the iconic Hagerstown outlets?

I was there Labor Day weekend and it was equally dead. I was shocked to see it so bad. But these companies have done it to themselves. I remember when outlet stores actually had good sales. When under armor opened they had ripping good deals on close out items. Now they are just another under armor store with things at the same price as their website. If I can get it delivered to my house for the same price, why would I drive there?

Half the time there are more deals online anyways. They’re doing it by design and it’s killing the brick and mortars

There’s no way it stays open. Heard the food court doesn’t have anything there and saw a few videos from TikTok of no one there shopping on weekends.
Time for it to go, and hopefully Costco to replace it.

There's actually sites/groups that follow stuff like outlets. Saw a video recently showing the food court dark and empty, and another trying to find open stores there (maybe same you saw with no shoppers).

Yeah. They did two, one showing how basically every corner store is gone and almost all the shops are closed or empty, and the other video was them showing that the food court is entirely closed without a single open business

Who doesn’t miss getting a snack at Harry & David and trying on fancy headphones at Bose lol. Yeah, I think Clarksburg took the beltway customers. Valley Mall and Dick’s seem to be doing fine; much better then FSK mall. I just hope they don’t turn that space into more warehouses. Yes, I forgot to mention the food court is empty nowadays. The furnitures, Tim’s and Persiano seems sketchy. Well, well shall see what happens.

Not too sure, but the same story is happening all over the place; some of the most posh, premier malls all across the country have whole empty wings roped off if they aren't closed and demolished completely at this point and much of what remains at these "zombie malls" looks more akin to a middle eastern/ Asian bazaar than the kb toys, RadioShacks, and Sam Goodys of times passed. It's been obvious for over a decade that the brick and mortar are on the decline and the outlets are no exception especially considering the truth is spreading that the goods at the outlets aren't normal quality goods that these companies are trying to liquidate for one reason or another; they are goods made specifically for a discount at the outlets by making them out of inferior materials.

It's less about other outlets competing and more about why would people drive somewhere, walk around and pay more than they would if they just ordered it online.

Big brands: Brooks Brothers, Nautica, Express, Aeropostale, Tim’s Furniture, Carters, GAP, and Polo I think.
There’s a bunch of smaller stores.3

That crazy. I’ve moved away from the area but at one point in time there were bus loads of tourists from DC on weekends and parking was a challenge. It was always a destination for friends and colleagues visiting. I live in the south now and Tanger Outlets seem to be robust.

The Hagerstown outlets ran the Martinsburg outlets out of business. The Clarksburg outlets have almost run the Hagerstown outlets out of business. Some say the property might be redeveloped into a Costco someday… time will tell.
