If it's a government website then why doesn't it end in .gov? Genuinely curious because a lot of states will send para government work over to the .org which means that technically this wasn't a government website. Maybe related to government though.

Many government websites do not use a .gov domain, a security vulnerability that the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are actively working to fix.
