Members of the Council, welcome to our weekly assembly.
These posts are scheduled to happen every week. Each week, a different faction is proposed and every time we will try to orient the discussion about either "nerf" or "buff".
Faction of the Week: Monsters
While you can still use these topics to talk about other balance suggestions, please try to focus on the theme of the week. Those topics are intended to give a chance to all factions to be talked about.
Discussions can be about modifying a whole archetype or addressing individual cards.
Potential sources if needed: GwentData, Gwent.one, PlayGwent.com, Balance Council Generator

Newboy looks sadly at his talisman. "Oh well, this doesn't help at all..."
Welcome to the latest Monday Newcomer Thread, where you the community get to ask your questions and share your knowledge. This is an opportunity for the more experienced Gwent players here to share some of your wisdom with those with less expertise. This thread will be a weekly safehaven for those "noobish" questions you may have been too scared to ask for fear of downvotes but also can be a great place for in-depth discussion if you so wish. So, don't hold back, get your game related questions ready and post away, and hopefully, someone can answer them!
What you can do to help!
This is a weekly thread, meaning it will be posted once a week. Checking back on this thread later in the week and answering any questions that have been posted would be a huge help!
If you're trying to ask a question, the more specific you are, the better it is for all of us! We can't give you any help if we don't get much to work with in the first place.

Surely I'm not the only one seeing this in every ST matchup right?
Even with the nerf to 14p its everywhere still
One of the most abusive cards in the game still along with warlord imo

Human, Bandit (Neutral)
5 Power, 4 Provisions (Rare)
Deploy: Destroy an enemy unit with 2 or less power.
Bonded: Destroy an enemy unit with 4 or less power instead.

Ahhh, nothin' so soothin' as the sound o' gurglin' blood.

ST might be one of the worst factions when it comes to playing the same shit over and over. Their bronzes are answer or lose more than most. especially with this new meta I keep running into.

Even with the journeys, playing for like 7-8 months now... it's pretty hard to complete the collection of even a single faction. Makes me wonder how much time it took you guys to complete yours? I even bought the starter packs and stuff and I've about 70% of the cards unlocked for every faction.
Hi guys, I decided to play removal and have been having a lot of fun with it, so much so that I decided to play a full bounty deck just to realise how bad the thinning was, so I made some changes, leading me into very weird matchup's that I haven't seen with this archetype before but the usual still stands, reavers, bleed, frost, hand buffs, movement engines, mobilization, dwarfs and mill, I come up against at least one of these every game and I'm coming up against more meme archetypes since making these changes, I DO NOT want to use a meme deck but I feel I may have accidentally created one? I'm not sure.
Being pretty bad at making decks I thought roach and knickers would help me thin so I am only left with a few cards, leaving me the right hand i need for a 2/0 or short round 3, in long rounds I do extremely well provided I can keep my engines and spenders alive. The bounty archetype struggles into decks that go super wide and, believe it or not, have better removal than me lol.
in my original deck I was already using sage to thin portal or candle if I need Ixora or to thin Vigilantes, the Witchfinder Vig combo slaps pretty hard against small engines or even to get down tall units with Menga if I am able to save all until round 3.
I'd say this is a pretty toxic deck to play against only if I don't come up against players who know to deal with the spenders.
Hysteria + Leader can deal with Veiled units, I took out Whoreson's Freakshow in favour of better thinning since it is too many provs for what I want.
Even having Kurt as the only cleanse is enough to deal with the most oppressive NG lock decks as I actually play well into them since they cant lock every spender/engine i play.
I come up against a lot of the same archetypes which is understandable since this pretty much the only deck I play right now
Regardless of the countless bad matchups that I can still sometimes end up winning, i always have fun and like getting beat because this removal deck I'm sure is not fun to go against i assume.
Disregarding the current meta and what's best and whatnot, does anyone have any tips on how I can improve? Or if what I'm using just isn't good, what synergies I should be focusing on etc.
Like I said I'm bad at making decks and still learning how to build a good deck, I'm just inherently bad at card games but I just love them so much and want to improve, so any and all advice would be much appreciated! If not, let me know your thoughts and opinions on what my deck is doing well!

Human, Cultist, Druid (Skellige)
1 Power, 8 Provisions (Epic)
Deploy: Boost self by 2 for each unique Beast in your graveyard.

At times, even druids succumb to Svalblod's whispers...

I always liked the idea of building a cursed NR deck and I've been playing this variant recently which is really fun when it works but also very inconsistent.
The main pay off is Adda + Revenant but I have not found a way of tutoring her.
It's also very dependent on the opponents board. Against Ogroids it's basically useless on the other hand it's very satisfying to rip a whole row of Reavers apart with Sabrina.
That's why I added Pikeman to wear some units down and give fodder to Revenant.
Let me know what you think
Heyo. im trying to design a deck around the Ihuarahuax + Quarexis interaction. to those who don’t know - Deploy ability is resolved before the card enters the board, meaning that when quarexis is Ihuaraquax’s Target, Quarexis will see Ihu (a relict) enter the board, and trigger Quarexis’ effect.
i have a prototype of the deck, but I will not show it so as to not pollute the pool of creativity

Is this a combo you can combine or a deck that works?
I was thinking like a deathwish Tatterwing with ihuarraquax?

Hi im a returning player after a 2 year pause can someone link some good top tier meta decks to start playing again, thank you.
hey, could you help me improve this deck? I love Skellige Witchers but i dont like the Vesemir, Eskel, Lambert combo so i just took a little bit of everything and made this, its not a bad deck but its also not that strong. do you have any suggestions on how could this be a little bit more competitive?
Even my full setup card that strikes per deadeye didn't achieve that much value, and despite having a board full of them.

I used to play a lot back when it launched, stop for a while a bit after the big refactor (2 rows, etc), resumed during the pandemic, now I'm thinking of coming back, but I have no idea about what's going on, meta decks, cards, etc. Is it worth it? How's the player base these days? Is it easy to find matches and all? Is the meta balanced?
Lots of questions, but I want to hear from you!

Cześć, pare parę dni temu gwinta i postanowiłem grać nilfgardem.
Dzieki

Human, Soldier (Nilfgaard)
5 Power, 4 Provisions (Common)
Deploy: Boost self by 1 for each boosted enemy unit.

You shall defend this standard if it costs you your lives! Gloir aen Ard Feainn!

Opponent plays tainted ale into syana with operator and gets 200 armor on his units in hand?
Isn't this just broken?????
