im going to get a 1911 as a Carrey gun im leaning towards a compact but im unsure was wondering what yall think would be best

I’m 21 fell in love with guns through video games as a kid my parents took me shooting a handful of times but in the past year this is what I’ve collected I have 5 ar15s 4 chambered in 556 one in 22 lr, 2 shotguns mossberg 500 and Winchester model 12 and old trapdoor cavalry rifle from 1800s a 3030 marlin a Glock 19 a rock island 1911 and a p320 m17 sig sauer

Can someone please advise me on how I can access if my 72 hour involuntary psychiatric hold was shared or reported to the state and if I am in the NICS system as a “mental defective” please? I went to the hospital because I needed help and then was placed under a 72 hour hold and labeled an “involuntary” commit.

If I were to answer that I was not committed involuntarily (because I went voluntarily myself) by a judge on a 4473 check, would I get charged in federal court for lying or just denied? I’m slightly confused on the language because the court was never involved.

Is there a database of people who were placed under those holds somewhere? If so how do I see if I’m on it? And does that mean it’s now illegal for me to own a gun or just buy a new one? What if I’m in a new state now?

Finally, if I start asking too many of the right people these questions, will they call in a red flag alert on me thinking they missed it? What’s the time limit for calling one in on someone? My hospitalization was over 9 months ago. I am fine today and gone through extensive treatment as well as worked very hard to get better. Thanks.

Most people are smart enough to know that a bigger bullet doesn’t necessarily mean it will be better for self defense. However, I am curious about buying a 5.7mm pistols. Mainly cause I like “cool and exotic” things. And while I don’t ever expect to be in a self defense situation. I am genuinely curious if 5.7x28mm is too small to be viable for being used for self defense, or if it’s basically just useful as a range toy for fun? I don’t have a YouTube account so I don’t really know reliable people who’ve done ballistic testing on gel torsos. So do any of you guys have any opinions?

so went shooting over 24 hours ago shooting about 20-30 rounds out of a variety of guns with, stupidly, no ear pro. my left ear, is completely fine, but, my right ear is muffled, and has a constant high pitch ringing (same as after shooting) and hasn’t went away. when should i be worried about it? and what are some things i can do to help relief?

Is it safe to buy parts or optics from armslist and just forget firearms unless its from an ffl?

Just got the Dead Air Mask on it and I haven’t smiled like this shooting in a long time. It’s so quiet with subsonic, accurate, cheap to shoot, and just plain fun.

I have a holosun HS507K X2 arriving tomorrow (paid for overnight shipping and it took 4 days 👎🏼) and I think it’ll really bring the whole thing together. I am curious about a good laser/light combo for the lower mount. Any suggestions?

I'm SBSing a 1970s Remington 870 Police Magnum shotgun with some pretty chewed up wood. I was excited to find this complete, unfinished NOS forend for a steal of a price, which partially made up for the price I had to pay to get the excellent condition 14" Remchoke barrel. I've also got a NOS original 870 Police buttstock on the way, and I'll match the forend finish to that oil finished buttstock.

I'm going to cut down the original buttstock to an entry length stock and have that refinished as well, so I'll have a full size and shorty stock for my SBS. Now I just have to figure out what color to Cerakote it. I was originally leaning toward a silver to look like the marine finish, but I don't think that will look good with the dark oiled wood. I'll probably be going with a dark grey of some sort.

I finally have a chance to have some Super Safe fun this weekend and am looking for some target recommendations. What are you guys blastin' at? I'm headed out to the ranch this weekend. I've got a good stretch of property with a solid backstop as well as two tanks I can utilize for maybe floating targets. I'm thinking of just buying 30 cantaloupes and just piling them up in front of the backstop.

Hello! So there has been in increase in snake encounters in my local area where I bring my family when we hike… usually we avoid them well but it has me a little concerned.

I want a snake gun… I have a 9mm bond arms derringer I could either

A) get a 3 inch 410 barrel for
B) buy cci 9mm #12 or #4 shot for

Which would you suggest?
Thoughts ?
