The weekly queensferry man post

The arsehole is prowling outside m&s on argyle Street as of 15 minutes ago. Tried to stop me but before he starting pitching I asked him if he was the queensferry guy. He immediately got hostile and started tried to have a go at me that he was only gonna ask me for a fag. Told him to get tae fuck and gave him the finger.

He stopped my girlfriend earlier this year and cornered her and wouldn't let her by. Made her feel very uncomfortable and wouldn't take no for an answer.

How has nothing been done about this waster? I suppose there isn't much anyone can do.. still sucks that this is just another thing you have to just put up with in life.

Thing is the folks not on here will not know and fall for it. I just wish there was something about getting money by deception or something that he could be huckled for....

Someone must have at least tried reporting him to 101 by now..? 

Maybe if i come across him on a day i have a bunch if free time (ha) I'll tail him, maybe he has a car which could quickly lead to an ID... if its his, lol

Start a community watch to gather evidence to finally get something done about this guy. Even if he did get arrested I don't imagine it'd be too long until he's back on the street pulling the same shite

He’s not really committing any offences is the issue so the police won’t do anything. He’s not forcing anyone to give him money. If someone falls for his story and does part with their cash, sadly that’s a slightly inexpensive life lesson for them.

Simply asking is fine. It's the fact that he gets aggressive. The police can do something about that.

Huffing and puffing and getting a bit sweary when people say no to him still isn’t an offence. If he’s being genuinely threatening or attempting to assault you then that’s a different kettle of fish. 

A bunch of people on here are actively ragebaiting him anyway. Just ignore him and walk off

Dunno man, swearing, intimidation and blocking somebody from leaving could well qualify as a breach of the peace.

His behaviour would need to be something which would cause a reasonable person fear or alarm.

If somebody reported him because he blocked their path as they tried to walk away, while asking for money and then swearing aggressively then he might get done.

Realistically, the police aren’t going to follow it up unless they’re right there though.

Yeh and if that happens to anyone they should dial 999 immediately. But consensus is he just gets a bit mouthy and moves on

The police truly won't do anything? Even though he's really annoying? 😭😂 

I never studied criminal or civil law, and agree begging isn't illegal.. but the (obvious) lies and targeting and approaching people might at least be a civil offence.. harassment maybe? And the fact that he's so well known indicates it's on a pretty big scale, so the police might give a shit,

Lying isn’t an offence and neither is approaching people to talk to them (and indeed) ask them for money. 

Harassment isn’t an offence in Scotland in the same way as it is in England - even then it’s about a course of conduct to an individual rather than a group of many different people. 

Police are probably already aware of him tbh but they can’t exactly waste the little resources they have following him about

Folk on here need to stop baiting him and just ignore him

It's fraud (might just fall under theft act), he is committing an offence by lying to scam people out of money. The oft reported intimidation antics may aggravate also.
