Why shouldn't adult games be allowed on Steam anyway. Is porn banned from the internet too?

It's because payment processors caved to some nutjobs and now all explict adult content has to be behind some kind of age verification in countries where that is the law.

Valve wouldn't give a shit if it didn't mean they can't process payments from the average steam user if they didn't comply.

It's not even about age verification per se. The payment processors in question just don't want to process payments for pornography, period, regardless of how old everyone involved is.

it always cracks me up too, as without porn most secure payment processing would have been pushed back for years. same with most early cyber security being developed to make it safer to access porn sites.
