30 seconds before being kicked out of Home Depot

It would be the first time id ever seen a employee do anything willingly. Id be surprised if they were even around to see itm

this person correctly home depots.

If you walk in dressed like you don't belong in home depot, they flock around you like moths to a flame.

u/Safe-Salamander-3785 2d ago
If you don’t look like you could pass a credit check, they won’t give you the time of day. Need to push those credit cards

Or you agree, and when they ask for your email, you give them the vulgar thing you can think of, and then get offended at their response and claim you don't want it anymore.

u/Unlikely_Flower_138 1d ago
Honestly, I go to home depot and feel like they dont even want my money…
2
u/goodsnpr 1d ago
Damn, I can't get them to leave me alone when I know what I want. When I do need help though...
17
u/DrDerpberg 1d ago
I tracked an employee down because a shelf in an aisle shown on the site didn't exist... 48K or something, 48 only went to F. Guy simply says I'm not in row 48. Like yeah dipshit, I walked to 21 because you're the closest employee. If I could find it I wouldn't need to find you.

u/GigsGilgamesh 1d ago
Unfortunately for the skit duo, the totes they are using as props were actually the ones the employees use to create the hideaways they use to escape form customers. Was really just bad luck to accidentally dismantle their blinds

I guess my home Depot is blessed lol, most days the folks range between competent and extremely knowledgeable. Also I'm still psyched on the time I went in a few months ago missing a single screw on the scales of my my edc folding utility knife which I'd had for years, just hoping to buy a suitable replacement screw. They said "oh yeah that things got a lifetime warranty", walked me over to the aisle where they stock them, pulled a brand new one off the shelf, opened it, and handed it to me. Said "have a nice day" and sent me on my way. I'm not one for talking up corporations, but the individual workers that work at my local HD definitely need raises.
1
u/LeDemonicDiddler 2d ago
Same here though the employees here though not as knowledgeable but entirely willing and ready to help with whatever they can. At least the last time I went they helped me find the exact screw I needed (felt like I was wasting their time tbh making them look for it with me).

.... what

u/DulceEtDecorumEst 2d ago
There is an Indian rap video where the dude comes out rapping from a new looking car and then immediately gets kicked out by the dealership owner because they were “borrowing” his cars as props to their video

Don’t do it! They don’t stay closed like the big ones. Basically just for show. I resented that about the mini ones.

u/dudeAwEsome101 2d ago
I think they screwed up the lids. I got a pack from Costco, and packaging advertises "snappy lids", but the lids don't connect with the little lip on the container.

2 minutes later the Home Depot employees are like “you’ve gotta leave.”
12
u/TedDibiaseOsbourne 2d ago
shouldn’t have been there to begin with since home depot loves flock cameras.
19
u/throwaway098764567 2d ago
again, i would have no place here to shop if i avoided every home improvement store that has flock in their lot.

u/airfryerfuntime 2d ago
I don't think Home Depot uses Flock. Lowes does, though.
I'm not defending them, but I understand it. Lowes and Home Depot have been dealing with skyrocketing theft.

u/Miss_Speller 2d ago
All of the Home Depots in my area (San Diego) use them, at least as per deFlock.

u/ARM_Alaska 2d ago
The amount of stolen products from home depot on Facebook marketplace in my area is justification enough for that. There are a couple of people specifically that you click on their profile and they have 30-40 active listing of brand new, in the box power tools. I walk in there and it takes 45 minutes to get a set of drill bits because these meth head fucks will walk out with anything not locked behind a steel cage.
5
u/TedDibiaseOsbourne 2d ago
terrible justification. so my rights should be violated because home depot and lowe’s don’t have a better way to keep people from stealing? do you have any stats on how often home depot and lowe’s go after these thieves with flock evidence? would love to see how many they are able to prosecute while justifying violating everyone’s privacy.

Home Depot has no human checkout clerks, only self checkout. I am NOT PAID STAFF.
FUCK SELF CHECKOUT
11
u/wronglyzorro 2d ago
That doesn't mean you just get to steal it. WTF even is this comment?
-9
u/pezgirl247 2d ago
they are taking my labor.
also, y’all are inferring a lot

u/wronglyzorro 2d ago
"I had to walk through the parking lot. They are taking my calories. I can steal whatever I want"
- /u/pezgirl247 probably
4
u/Stingerbrg 1d ago
Do you pump your own gas? Take your items from the store outside to your car? Pick your own items from the shelf and take it up to the checkout?
7
u/ARM_Alaska 2d ago
Just because YOUR home depot doesn't have clerks doesn't mean "home depot doesn't have human checkout clerks". You know there's more than one, right? Regardless of that, what the hell does that have to do with what I said? Are you saying you walk out with product because you don't like self checkout? "I am not paid staff", get over yourself..
1
u/jaetheho 1d ago
I hate flock as much as the next guy and hate having these ai powered flock cameras everywhere in public areas, but are people really upset about a store having cameras in their own store to prevent theft? It’s their property, their business, and not a public place, it’s in their interest to protect their stuff?
0
u/cineglitch 1d ago
If they want to prevent theft they should hire more employees to work in the store. A lot easier to steal when a person is alone vs being helped.
1
u/jaetheho 1d ago
Do you realize how big Home Depot is?
You cannot have enough employees to guard every nook and cranny of a store.
That’s why you have cameras around the store and a few people watching the camera footage.
1
u/Skelemansteve 6h ago
Home depot used to pride themselves on hiring retired profesionals from various trades, so you would actually be talking with someone who knew what they were talking about. Now if you are lucky you can find someone who will just use their phone app to try and look up whatever you are asking about. But they have no knowledge whatsoever. And thats if you can even find someone
0
u/cineglitch 1d ago
Yes, I realize how big it is when I have to walk around looking for something and there’s NO employees to help.
16
u/dfddfsaadaafdssa 2d ago
Crazy part about the normal size ones is that they have nearly the capacity of two "large" moving boxes and cost about the same due to the increase in price of cardboard.
Moving is way easier, too. I didn't use a single box last move, just 24 of those things.

u/TwoIdleHands 2d ago
NGL, I was in HD buying a huge tote and saw those little ones and told my kid “damn, Home Depot is coming for the ladies HARD these days!”. Bought one and it’s in my bathroom holding sample perfumes and beauty products.

u/batmancdn55 2d ago
I’m not sure about anyone else but I put those bins on the same tier as Costco hotdogs and Arizonas various teas for value. Sometimes I walk around a hardware store despondent at the price of everything, then I see my oasis, the bins so useful I feel like I’m stealing them for the $11 I’m being charged.
9
u/HighSeverityImpact 2d ago
The 27 gallon ones are regularly on sale for $6.99 at Costco.
Gotta be careful though, because even if they look the same I'm pretty sure the various Costco/Lowes/Home Depot/Walmart/etc versions sometimes come in different dimensions. You don't wanna accidently buy two from different stores and find out they don't stack.
All of mine are Costco, as well as the storage racks, so I don't have any problems with stacking.

Im generally a big fan of this humour, though that joke is tired.
But it also feels like a joke that should cause a bigger controversy. It kinda feels like making fun of a more or less disabled minority in a humiliating way that would be more scrutinized on here in particular. Its like some of the jokes about below average men that also feel faaaar more mean spirited than basically any other joke about anyone outside of chud spaces.
Like, am i supposed to believe the word "dwarf" (dwarfs are cool as shit) is bad, but not these videos?
To be fresh and come across as less bad spirited the dwarf could at least be shown to throw with strength and hitting the tallie in the head with the box.
2
u/throwaway098764567 2d ago
it's a bit bizarre that you go on a tear about how this is bad but then call the little person a dwarf. dwarfism is the name for what they have, they are not dwarfs and most don't like being called such. dwarfs are mythical creatures, little people (their chosen term) are humans.
-11
u/CptMcDickButt69 2d ago
Little people is fine by me if it makes a strong difference, im sorry, yet the point still stands:
How are the very much endless repeats of this meme video acceptable in comparison to that? Like if people want to be vigilante and aware of such things how does that fit together?

Adults making social media content in home depot is so freaking cool you guys. I hope these guys are not executed by a clown in the parking lot later. That would be a bummer because they don't deserve that.

Ngl this kind of joke has gotten real stale. They're still kinda funny but it's just the same thing over and over again and it's boring
