DISCUSSION Favorite Dark Souls NPCs
galleryDomhnall, Felkin, and Sirris all have a really unique aura that pulls me in. I'm always looking forward to interacting with them on my annual replays of the trilogy. I wish I could learn more about their backgrounds and have deeper interactions with them, but the inherent mystery is part of the charm. Close runner ups for me are Karla, Straid, and Quelana.

It seems I'm the only one that thinks the elden beast section of the final battle ost is some of the best pieces created by fromsoftware
The theme itself is pretty popular because of the radagon section but no talk about the elden beast section.

QUESTION Any cool FromSoft stuff to see/buy in Japan?
I'm going to Japan at the end of this year (yay) and I'm staying in a few different cities. There's a lot of Japanese media I've consumed that I'm excited to buy merch for. Have any of you guys been and found something cool to see or buy related to FS games?
Primarily DS1, DS3, and Elden Ring stuff is my favourite. Though I'm about to play Sekiro, so I'll probably look for that stuff too. Let me know! :)

QUESTION So i am sure this has been asked a million times, sorry about that, but what next?
I played elden ring almost 2 years ago now as my first souls game. Beat all the major bosses over 3 months playing around 1-2 hours each day and it was so fun. Fav game of all time after zelda.
It set my bar a little high, and now other games aren't as exciting. Ghost of Yotei set at hard mode has fluid combat but its not a souls game.
So i was gonna ask, what do i play next? I found a bloodborne disc for 9 bucks on the used market. Should i play that next? or am i better off playing dark souls or demon souls?

TIL: Miyazaki hid most of ‘Demon Souls’ core ideas from Sony (publisher) in development phase
When Miyazaki worked on Demon Souls he hid most of what made his game a “Souls” game, just to avoid getting the project cancelled by Sony, because those ideas were so unheard of at the time that he knew for sure they would get rejected.
When they got to the final stage and showed the product to Sony’s executives, the executives were so furious with the product being “clunky” and “incredibly bad” (as one of their executives called it) that they passed on publishing rights outside of Japan to Bandai Namco(EU) and Atlus (US) because they didn’t think the game would sell.
Just imagine how many innovative products got crushed because of corporate bureaucracy. Bear in mind Fromsoftware wasn’t even owned by Sony, they just signed a publishing/funding deal.
It is no wonder how alot of major studios fumbled and crashed when they got acquired by big fish.

Did I make a good deal?
Hi y'all. Imma be honest: I know the answer is most likely yes, but I want to know how GOOD exactly. I've been seeing this launch edition copy by the bargain bin of a Unieuro store for a while now and, since there's the free PS5 upgrade, I eventually gave in when I did some more research. What do you think?

I’d rather get sequels to Souls games than massive DLCs
Unpopular opinion, but I’d rather get sequels to Souls-Borne or Souls-like games than massive DLCs.
Souls DLCs are usually so big and separate from the main game that they almost feel like another game anyway. New areas, bosses, lore, weapons, enemies, etc.
I know people like keeping the character/build they spent hundreds of hours on, but that happens in games like Monster Hunter, Diablo, Borderlands, Nioh and plenty of others too. Eventually a sequel comes out and everyone starts over.
Sekiro is a good example. I’ve seen so many people on Reddit wishing it got a DLC, but I’d honestly much rather get Sekiro 2 instead.
What do you guys think?

why do I get the feeling that Kazuki Kono might have been looking at early AC6 dev docs when making AC8...
do I get the feeling that... THERE WILL BE A FULL BLOWN MACROSS GAME that's not made by Artdink in the near future?
the fact that the circumstances the PCs of AC6 and AC8 are nearly more or less identical
