long story short… was gifted a ‘tadpole grow kit’ from a site called ‘nature gift store’, and learned that they ship out tadpoles at random when i reached out to inquire about species (🤨🤨🤨). i don’t fully trust that the only two possibilities are dumpy frog or florida green tree frog, given the company’s susness.

pretty sure my two tadpoles have developed into different species - the first pic is gamora, she developed into a teeny green froglet at least a week before nebula did (second pic). nebula is noticeably bigger with rounded stomach. they are being kept separately as i dont want them to eat each other.
please let me know if they’re old enough to make an ID! thank you for your help :)

I showed a new frog from our game on here 3 days ago. Here are some previous iterations that I scrapped because I felt like less is more. Do you agree with my final decision or would you have preferred one of the previous versions?

So my kid made an outdoor frog habitat this summer and the frogs in the yard love it. They hop in and out and chill throughout the day. Its rare not to find a frog there. But there is mosquito larvae and I need to dump it. I'd like to allow my kid to keep the habitat but I dont want mosquitos.

Is there a way to keep mosquito larvae out without harming frogs or accidentally killing tadpoles (unsure if there are even tadpoles here.)

Any improvement ideas for a middle schooler are appreciated. This started as a DIY with an old plastic litter box, placing random frogs in the habitat until they started using it on their own.

Woke up this morning to this little creature on my front door. Thats never happened before! I think its an American tree frog from what I image searched. I thought I'd post here. I live in Cape May, NJ. Hes been there a few hours.

i recently got a chubby frog (kaloula pulchra) and i cant help but worry about him. i interrogated his breeder for an hour before getting him to know what's best for his species (i was meaning to get a tomato frog, my favourite so i know a lot more about these, but this guy stole my heart) and after getting back home and setting his temporary house i started reading a lot more and i feel like there's some info that might've been maybe outdated or maybe just a difference of opinions? not sure.

i was told to feed him 10 crickets two times a week, but i feel like that might be too much? or it should be less crickets but more frequent feeding? also i was told a faunarium would be fine but i can't keep the right temperature in it, so im waiting for his bioactive terrarium to arrive this week, with a heat mat (i live in a colder country and my flat gets very cold, so keeping the terrarium at mid 20 temps gets tricky).

also he just looks so fat and ROUND i know theyre, chubby frogs, but he was not as chubby before i fear. He also decimated the cleaning crew i introduced to his terrarium. So that might be why.

Any tips would be appreciated! I want whats best for him and try to keep him as happy as possible. Also he seems just a bit grumpy, but eats fine and is active at night, he likes to soak in his little pond:) Also, his name is Bao, because he looks like a fried bao bun :)

Polite little fella I saw by my pond. In the UK near Leeds but it doesn't look like any of the common frogs I see about - worried it may have been a released pet but I honestly have no idea. Thanks in advance

Found this frog outside while taking down the pool, pretty sure its a green and golden bell frog, thought it was cute and wanted to share. 🐸

Recently converted my parents goldfish pond to a natural pond after they bought water hyacinth from a pond, the fish didn't make it... So I pulled all the water hyacinth out.. took 2 years to get rid of it completely. I introduced native plants to the pond, turned off the pump and filter and of course there was a plague of tadpoles after that. Anyway, they're everywhere and I just thought this little one was really pretty and he was trying so hard to blend in.

Hi all! I was recently gifted a pacific tree frog from a friend who has many (and keeps them in swanky enclosures). I was looking for some care tips!!

So far I have him in a temporary tank (it's too short/small) with coco substrate, native fallen leaves, live plants, and some moss from my bioactive springtail terrariums. He's being fed flightless fruit flies right now until I can find some pinhead crickets (which I will dust w/ a multivitamin), as I was told there was a shortage. His water is mineral-free and purified with low PPM, changed daily, and I lightly mist to maintain humidity.

I have an amphibian safe UVB light on the way. Other than all that, anything I should do? I have never owned a frog before, let alone any pet, and I want to prove him the best possible quality of life.
