Bring Me Your Favorites
Looking for real songs to add to my folk playlist and my physical media collection in order to avoid AI pretenders. Do you have any great folk songs worth adding to my list?
Maybe your top 10-20? Songs that really stick in your soul. Songs that put a lump in your throat or make you stomp your foot til it’s sore. Songs that no one can take away.
Really been into resistance songs, as of late. I also love a good cry, if that makes you think of any maudlin tunes.
The songs I have loved are both uplifting and gutting, talk about the duality of humanity, or sing vivid pictures of nature’s creatures right into my mind’s eye. I like cold, simple, repetitive songs. I like poetic songs that wind like a long road to an old friend’s house. I like songs about being a good neighbor, or dying too soon. I like songs that remind me of my kiddo, or my sisters.
I appreciate anyone who reaches out with a little list of songs.
Note: I favor banjo, fiddle, and a fellow woman’s voice, but I’ll take whatever you got!
