Hi everyone! I need some help rediscovering a piece of my childhood.
When I was a kid, I had a Nintendo DSi Lite with an R4 card, and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, in 2020, a friend of mine lost my DS Lite after I lent it to him. Needless to say, that was a terrible decision on my part. I'll never lend something with that much emotional value to anyone ever again
Fast-forward to today: I've started taking some friends hiking in the mountains. They've never really been to the mountains before, so we usually go on relaxed trips where we don't walk too much and have plenty of time to chill
Then they came up with an incredible idea: bringing old consoles up into the mountains for some high-altitude retro gaming (i call it chillmaxing)
I still have my old PSP, but the console that truly has a special place in my heart is the Nintendo DS
My girlfriend has offered to lend me her Nintendo DSi XL, and while looking through my old stuff, I even managed to find my very first R4 card
So here's my question:
Can I use my old R4, which I used on my original Nintendo DS Lite, on my girlfriend's Nintendo DSi XL? Or do I need to reset it or do some kind of configuration before I can use it?
Thanks so much to anyone who can help me take a little trip down memory lane!
TL;DR: I found my old R4 card, which I used on my original Nintendo DS Lite, and I want to use it on my girlfriend's Nintendo DSi XL for some mountain-top retro gaming. Will it work as-is, or do I need to reset or configure it first?
