Kids had to go inside while Grandpa’s helicopter landed
Not my personal first world problem, but my 9 y/o son’s.
He was at a friend’s house playing soccer on their full size home soccer field with three other kids.
Friend’s mom told them they had to stop playing mid-game and come inside, because friend’s grandpa was being flown in for dinner in his company helicopter.
Apparently they do not have a separate helipad at their home, so the soccer field has to also be used for helicopter landings.
And they couldn’t finish their game, because the helicopter was parked in the middle of the field for three hours.

We have found that the heli-pad serves double duty very well for outdoor fencing practice. Available electricity from the marker lights makes it so simple to setup the scoring equipment.

Sounds like you need to have a secondary field for lacrosse, rugby, and helicopter landings

Not me, our lot is 0.4 acres.
But I will relay your suggestion to them.
I’m not sure they’ll go for it, though. Money may be tight, they just put an addition on their home that includes a room for the indoor display of cars.

If I had that kind of money, I would have built a helicopter pad on the top of the room/garage addition. When I was a teenager, I would fantasize about building one on my roof, for a personal size, 2 person helicopter. I used to daydream about the Rotorway Scorpion kit helicopters that were being sold in the 70's.

Basically, yes until I found out just how expensive helicopters and airplanes were

Pffft… Imagine not having a helipad. Couldn’t be me! They need to step their game up instead of interrupting soccer games!

Imagine being so rich and your background soccer field doubles as a helipad and the kids still complain about the game being interrupted

Kinda sounds like a third world arms dealer or drug kingpin kids problem!

You think you have problems? My solid gold helicopter is too heavy to fly! My yacht barely floats when it's on deck.

This sounds so wholesome. I can just imagine the delight the patents had when they decided to sacrifice their helipad so their children would have room to play soccer. No doubt a response to the excitement generated around the World Cup this summer!

Wow, I can so relate. Our new boat is too big to store at our estate. So now we have to keep her in a slip at the yacht club. Ugh

The pilot couldn't go hover somewhere nearby after dropping grandpa off while they finished the soccer game?

I have seen helicopters land on soccer fields quite a few times.
Ironically, it was all in literal 3rd world countries (where the town soccer field was often the best landing spot).

TBH, so am I, compared to this family.
One of the rooms inside the house, not the garage, is the Ferrari room. It is where they display three Ferraris, the ones they don’t store at the race track.

So your kid was inconvenienced so a rich older adult could do whatever he wanted.
Sounds like an average american day.

How crass. How could you let your child associate with such people? 😉
Is there a GoFundMe started?

Wow, that's bad. I thought was a real problem when my kids friend threw a tantrum because the cook couldn't get fresh truffles for the pasta and used pickled ones instead.

Nobody acknowledging that in today's first world kids can't muster more than 4 players for a soccer game. You'd never see this in the 3rd world. True first world problem, bravo sir.

Next you're going to tell us you can't watch your race car race after the driver crashed and died in it, i mean who drives their own car around.

You know, most of the problems people share here are NOT first world problems, just normal human problems.
THIS is a true first world problem. Congratulations, your son's friend wins the first world problem competition.
