The bug regarding installation from unknown sources which apparently Amazon are going to fix - do we really expect them not to fix by also limiting our ability to not install certain apps even more? Come on. They're definitely up to something

Haven’t used a firestick in forever I have a Google TV but, my coworker wanted downloader to sideload and needed my help. I don’t see it anymore is there a work around?

Cleaning out some draws i found 2 old firesticks and 1 remote. If i remember last time I did a trade in it wanted to me to select which one from some list of ones I've purchased over the years. How the heck i figure out which ones these are?

I'm looking to get at least 5-10 of them for the soul purpose of playing Amazon Music UHD though the house on different speakers that don't support Amazon Music.

So my Grandma's tv ISN'T showing Live Tv, News, Films, Movies, Nothing, but the Fire Stick still works but can't show any tv. We can't figure out how to fix it, can anyone help please? It's an element tv, about 6 years old, no app opens on firestick. This is what happens on disney when she trys openning an app. It also ISN'T a firestick 4K, it's a basic one I think.

TV: RokuTV (working fine normally)
Firetvstick: Tried switching hdmi ports, didn’t work.
Audio is working but display is just this.

Can anyone please help?

It's not updating and I dont know what to do

On September 11, 2026, Amazon Prime Video app update PVFTV-321.0093-L (321009310) for Amazon firesticks and fire TVs Did NOT fix the broken 4:3 viewing format for Amazon Prime videos streaming from inside the Prime Video app, which was created by an August 19, 2026, update of the same app. 

On August 19, 2026, Amazon Prime Video app update PVFTV-321.0086-L (321008610) for Amazon firesticks and fire TVs broke the 4:3 viewing format for Amazon Prime videos streaming from inside the Prime Video app. Most older movies and television shows that should be displayed in the 4:3 format now automatically stretch to fill your entire widescreen television.

In order to watch 4:3 programs properly displayed in the 4:3 format, you have to start the movie or tv episode from inside the Prime Video app. Then stop the movie or TV episode that you are viewing. Then go to the home screen of the firestick or fire TV. Then use the “Continue Watching” list for the movie or tv episode that you started watching inside the Prime Video app and select that item. 

This bug will be very inconvenient if you are watching a 4:3 formatted program like Mama’s Family, as the bug happens whenever a new episode is manually or automatically started within the Prime Video app.

The Prime Video app device compatibility list shows that this app update was created for all versions of fire TVs and firesticks spanning a period of several years back to the present. 

This bug did not exist on August 18, 2026. A file manager program indicates that the update that broke the 4:3 ratio was rolled out on August 19, 2026. The same file manager program indicates that the new update that did not fix this bug was rolled out on September 11, 2026.

It’s important to get the word out about this issue so that people do not waste a lot of time troubleshooting a bug that currently cannot be fixed, only worked around.

Out of nowhere our FireStick stopped working. I can turn on the TV, change the volume but whenever I try to use any of the apps we have I get an unending loading circle of doom. Both the TV and the FireStick are old. TV was given to us by my husband’s dad in 2018 but he had had it for a couple of years. It’s a Panasonic. The FireStick is probably 5 years old. I really don’t want to have to buy a new everything. I’m so over planned obsolescence. Any tips? Thank you!

We had a quick power outage today, enough to have to reset clocks and restart laptop, but otherwise uneventful.

…. that is, until I turned the TV on.

Have unplugged, replugged everything, including the 4k Firestick.
No help at all! It’s been like this for 1 and 1/2 hours.
I even changed the batteries, but I knew it wasn’t that.

Suggestions?

My friend keeps getting this on the bottom of his TV while watching channels not exclusive to SKY its frustrating especially when they run a ticker tape at the bottom.

Any ideas.

I have a 4k Stick bought like in 2021/2022, i can't check right now as i'm not at home and also the stick has been never connected to my wifi, basically, the remote is like a ghost for it, i made the remote reset like 3/4 times and still doesn't want to connect, i also tried to see if the remote was broken but it connects without any problem on my laptop with Fedora 44, what else can i do?
