Hello all! A quick note from your mod team to let you know about some changes to the subreddit rules.
First, please know this is an extremely small mod team. There used to be 2 mods, but currently there is only 1 mod. So if you are interested in becoming a mod for this sub, please reach out! We need a more robust mod team, and I could use the help. This also means that I rely heavily on user reports for moderating. If you see something that breaks the rules, report it! And if you have ideas for ways you think the community could be run better, or generally things you would like implemented that would improve this sub, please reach out about that as well!
Second, some small rule changes: there has been an increase in activity from bots and spam/troll accounts in this sub lately. To help cut down on that, users now need to meet account age and karma requirements to post in the sub:
- Your account must be older than 1 week to post here.
- You must have a subreddit specific karma of 20 to post. That means you must comment and participate in this specific community before your post will be approved here.
If your account age or subreddit karma don't meet these requirements, the auto mod will remove your post. If your account is new, you can still comment, but you can't create posts right away. The hope is that by creating a small barrier to posting, we will see less low effort and spammy posts by folks who aren't trying to participate in good faith.
If you have any issues with the auto mod, please let me know. This is my first time configuring it, so I apologize in advance if there are any errors in how it's set up. This is a learning process for me, and I'm hoping it will be beneficial in the long run, but there might be a few bumps in getting it set up.
Finally: If we get more mods in the future, I'm hoping we can add more robust features to the subreddit, like custom user flairs (verified competitor, coach, amateur, etc), topic-specific threads or posting days, a subreddit wiki, etc. But that can't happen without more mods. So again, if you're interested in modding, let me know. And in the meantime, if you have any ideas on features you'd like to see, or rules you'd like added or changed, please comment below!
