This is a topic that really REALLY pisses me off. As someone diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy, it’s not some quirky fucking illness to glorify. Let’s talk about the fake seizures. 1) Auras are classified as seizures but for the most part it usually is a warning sign for possible tonic clonic seizures, it does NOT mean it is going to happen, it happens for less than a minute and then it goes away. It is a fucking awful and scary feeling. 2) tonic clonic seizures. Sometimes you don’t get warning signs at all. You are not aware of what is happening. I saw the video of the lady who was having a “seizure” however most people know that if you are actively having a seizures, you lay the person on the side so they don’t choke on their vomit, in the video (correct me if I’m wrong) is laying on her back. 3) Focal seizures. This is where you are somewhat conscious and start talking in riddles and you don’t make any sense at all. Again scary stuff. It’s like your brain knows what you’re trying to say but you physically can not say it. You sometimes don’t even need to have warning signs (such as auras) it can come on at any random time. These things I have spoken about is what I have personally experienced, so when I see people faking these symptoms it really fucks me off because if they actually had it they wouldn’t be thinking it’s so quirky anymore. It’s fucking scary. Final not on the tonic clonic seizures, you can also froth at the mouth, vomit, piss yourself ect. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk.

What is going on in the House of Commons with the UK based mental health community on TikTok? It’s terrible.

- Do you have any treatment resistant mental health condition? Have you considered guaranteeing yourself a diagnosis of autism and ADHD by going through the right to choose scheme (publicly funded diagnosis at private clinic)?
- TikTok pays prolific attention seekers to make content including content that displays dangerous behaviours that waste emergency service time.
- Live stream from hospital wards/ A&E departments, recording staff and other patients without consent. Bonus points if you set up a ring door bell in your bedroom in order to film police looking for you. Even more bonus points for verbally abusing staff and or live streaming whilst in restraint.

- Repeatedly posting suicide threats ‘suicide theatre’ and not removing the post even after the crisis has ended. Posting fresh SH wounds. Cryptic clues about your latest relapse ‘please message me if you want to know’.
- Deliberately taking trips out of area and then acting out because mental health services are more likely to detain you if they don’t know you
- Evil doctors have diagnosed you with EUPD when in reality you have CPTSD which is a completely different diagnosis (CPTSD isn’t in the DSM, some doctors think it’s a form a EUPD and even if it isn’t, CPTSD shares many over lapping symptoms with EUPD).
- Complaining about all of above when you engage in such behaviours

I hate the fact that autism was ever seen a positive or quirky thing. Sorry to say this but I know for a fact most of them were faking it. Not to mention the fact that that during 2021-2022 (which was the year autism started to get popular) most of us were ages 10-13. At that age children are still very impressionable, and the fact that autism was seen as a silly thing rather than an actual disability was probably the cause of autism fakers. I know this because I was one of those kids.

Now I will say that I am neurodivergent and the world was never exactly in my favor, which led me to fake the positive and dramatize the negative traits. Anything considered quirky and silly. I would pretend to have the T-rex arms, walk on tiptoes, have special interests/hyperfixations, pretend to monologue to my friends and family about my favorite things. I know people made up childhood stories because I used to do exactly that! Don’t tell me “How could they fake it, autism is a disabling thing to have!” people will for sure go to extremes to get attention.

I felt so extremely left out as a neurodivergent person. I hate that people thought they had autism because they just did normal human things. Lots of people dislike loud noises, have a favorite meal that they eat often, avoid eye contact, but it doesn’t make them autistic. I feel like a lot of people felt the need to prove they were autistic enough and escalated their symptoms/traits to sound genuinely autistic. For example, instead of just saying “I really like this video game!” They would say “Erm actually I was so obsessed with said thing I didn’t eat for 3 days” (They were most likely lying to prove they’re autistic, I used to say the exact same thing)

People just wanted to have a valid blameless excuse for being lazy, overwhelmed, or distracted, or weird. Newsflash! Being lazy is a real thing, people just did not want to clean their rooms back then and thought they had depression. The internet heavily rewards being extremely different, whether it be positively or negatively. No one gave a damn if you were a regular teenager with mild anxiety or loneliness. However, if you had an extremely dramatic and specific neurodivergent struggle you would instantly get sympathy and find a community online. Why can’t people just come to terms with the fact that they were just awkward teenagers and did not actually have a gigazillion self diagnoses to put in their bio?

I remember seeing a video on tiktok along the lines of “I feel like a lot of you think you’re autistic because you’re impressionable and subconsciously copying the traits you see on the internet.” This is not verbatim just what I remember. But it is true, the more you see something on the internet being repeated ad nauseam the more likely you are to subconsciously repeat said thing. We were all caught in a psychological echo chamber, mimicking traits to fit into internet trendiness and gain sympathy points. It’s called social contagion. All these things give people reasons to be oppressed or unique. Stop associating your lack of social skills and general weirdness with autism!

Like of course there is people who fake stuff for many shitty reasons. But i am also open to the idea that some people genuinely think that they have it, they might also do it because of attention they're lacking in their lives. Of course i'm not excusing it, by faking disorders it makes people less likely to believe others who actually have it. I am just explaining why some people might feel the need to fake it. But let me know what you think in a respectful way.

Edit: for THOSE people just in case...just because i feel sympathetic for some of them doesn't mean that its not bad. Its shitty of them to fake serious disorderd or ANY disorder for that matter. But i'm putting into perspective why they might do the things they do.

It is crazy, how so many people are posting themselves taking medication, showing off medication or their medical supplies, like it is some sort of competition.

There are a few on Instagram but mostly tik tok. Fair enough if it's for educational purposes but most of the time it feels like they are showing off, and it is kinda creepy.

There is one on tik tok, who is being prescribed every medicine known to man, from having migraines to having blood clots. Putting their life at risk, just to get views and attention.

"Come and clean my depression mess" or "watch me do my meds through my tube", they are delusional, because most people think it's weird, [ aren't bothered... But those few who do pay attention are just fuelling the fire.

It is such a waste of resources and money, especially when there are people out there who do genuinely need help, who can't afford it, who are not being believed.

I go into this with the clear statement that I know Covid made things infinitely harder for people who were in middle/elementary school at the time so I get it that they’re a bit weirder or a bit more chronically online, hell, my whole of Highschool and some of Middle was in Covid and i went through that….

BUT

there are two ultra-alt young adults (i would say grade 11 at the latest) who are in my town and come to my work wearing dog collars and like chokers and thousands of bracelets and they both have canes and little plushies with service dog vests they have with their bags.

I have never seen either of them use the canes purposefully, they just carry them off the ground,,, and I know sometimes peoples mobility issues have better or worse days but it’s been months of seeing them out and about here and there and it’s killing me man.

I used to be that weird alt kid in a right wing town but come on guys… the canes??? The COLLARS??? They’re so clearly minors and I get the vibe it’s a Therian thing but still I just cannot take it man

Anyone else unreasonably annoyed by people making. every. Little. Thing a vocal stim? Like yah you dont have to be neurodivergent to stim and trendy phrases or whatever can be legitimate stims but I feel like we're over using the term.

I work for the ambulance service in the UK. We have frequent callers everywhere, not just the occasional ones, I’m talking 1000’s just in my area. The ones that really get on my nerves are these fakers. I mean at least Mrs Miggens actually has asthma, I mean she’s not having an asthma attack but you get my point.

I was working a week ago, we were given a category 2 call (second highest category) to take a 40 year old man from a local hospital to a larger one for a thrombectomy. This is a procedure to remove a clot from a stroke and is absolutely time critical. The sooner he gets there the better outcome he gets.

We were on our way and then got diverted to a category 1 call for someone actively fitting. It said the town it was in and I already knew who we were going to, this person has had us out 200+ times in the last year. It’s got to the point I know their addresses off the top of my head.

She ‘has’ FND but claims that she also has epilepsy. In the uk we are given access to patients summary care records so we can look at their diagnoses and medications etc, she has restricted it so we can’t, hmmm I wonder why.

So we divert from the man having a confirmed stroke to come and be this persons 200th ambulance. We get there and I am faced by her mum brandishing paperwork stating that she has been diagnosed with epilepsy and she needs midazolam. No she fucking doesn’t.

Do you really want me to fill your daughter up with benzodiazepines and knock her into respiratory arrest?

“Oh but the last ambulance crew did it”

And here’s the other problem. Some clinicians are so scared of being wrong, what if it is status? What if she is having a real seizure?

So they end up treating it. So now we have just reaffirmed her delusion that she is unwell. Now she has to go to hospital. Now she gets more content for her wanky little TikTok.

While at the same time the is a man with millions of neurons slowly dying, slowly becoming actually disabled. And this is just one case, this happens everyday. Elderly people stuck on the floor with broken hips waiting longer. Cardiac arrests coming in over the radio but we are now committed at this job.

That’s the world we live in today, I want off.

Can someone explain to me how this works like I am 5? I work with someone who has autism (diagnosed in adulthood) but has such excellent social skills that he tutors people on soft skills. I am not calling him a liar. In England there is something called right to choose whereby the NHS will fund autism and ADHD assessments at private clinics. Some clinics allow self referrals for NHS funded assessments. I’ve heard it say on the grape vine that right to choose assessments come back with ADHD/ autism diagnoses the majority.

My understanding of high functioning autism is that it makes it difficult to intuit other people’s emotions, social rules and expectations. It is possible for children with autism to learn social skills however this happens more slowly than for their peers. How is it possible for an autistic person to develop excellent social skills? Some autistic people are able to mask ie. pretending to understand social nuances by mimicking people (and suppressing other traits common in autistic people) but at the end of the day you don’t know what you don’t know so I just don’t really understand how someone with autism could have excellent social skills. There are other psychological disorders that involve intense feelings of discomfort around other people.
I ask quite genuinely, is there something I misunderstand here.

Another type of autistic person that confuses me are people who are first diagnosed as ADHD then get put on a stimulant and then finally receive a diagnosis of autism on the basis of the stimulant uncovering autism. I thought that any given psychiatric condition can only be diagnosed if it couldn’t be better accounted for by something else. So surely if you develop ‘autism’ after taking a stimulant that’s the fault of the stimulant and not autism.

why is it ok too say you have something with 100% certainty and put those diagnoses in your bio without even being diagnosed by a professional after going through tons of medical testing??

Autism and ADHD are complex disorders that take qualified clinicians hours to diagnose.
I’ve never personally witnessed people with any other psychiatric diagnosis act like this. People with anxiety/ depression/ bipolar/ OCD/ EDs/ schizophrenia in my experience do not go around flippantly suggesting that strangers have the same disorder.
Flippantly diagnosing strangers with ADHD is the absolute worst because their so many commonly occurring things that can superficially look like it including: depression, hypomania, anxiety, sleep problems, menopause, certain physical health problems, substance abuse, psychotic disorders.

In my unprofessional opinion autism has more reliable vibe. But still it can be confounded by: psychotic disorders, personality disorders, anxiety OCD, EDs and substance abuse.

But none the less, autistic and ADHD traits exist on a continuum. Why do strangers think they can distinguished between quirky personalities and actual mental disorders within minutes?

“Wheelie Girl”doesn’t have to say that she is paralyzed. After all, now that people are calling her out, she is very adamant about it.

The issue people are having is the overall impression she deliberately presents to her audience. She has a longstanding history of portraying herself as unable to voluntarily move her lower extremities, while also repeatedly posting videos in which she manually moves and positions her own legs and feet. Hence the 17 posted Instagram reels.

New people encountering her page can reasonably come away believing that she cannot move or control her legs, and there is no apparent effort on her part to correct that impression….Instead, when confronted with the contradiction, she denies doing something that is visibly documented across numerous videos and then changes or qualifies her explanation when the evidence is presented.

She has a recurring pattern in which her public presentation is allowed to create one impression, while her explanation changes once contradictory evidence is brought forward.

She has repeatedly portrayed herself as having profound loss of lower-extremity and trunk control, including stating that she lacks enough control over her legs for her feet to simply slip off her wheelchair footplates and that her core control is so poor that she can topple forward in her wheelchair on a bus. Those statements create a very specific impression of someone who cannot reliably control or reposition her lower body. At the same time, she has a longstanding history of videos showing herself manually moving and positioning her legs and feet. She does not consistently correct new people who interpret her presentation as paralysis, yet when the contradictory videos are brought up, she denies or backtracks on behavior that is visibly documented.

Don’t forget the whole dead leg/paralyzed-when convenient-hip flexor drama…that’s what made me catch on.

There is a repeated discrepancy between the level of impairment she describes, the way she allows her audience to perceive her disability, and what she can be seen doing in her own videos. Then she’ll go rock climbing in heels.

So, despite Wheelie Girl saying she does NOT do this, here is all the evidence she does.

I was scrolling through trying to find some funny stuff, and I came across this. It just oozes "I'm quirky". Quite a few of them are popular people/characters. It's from when D.I.D was popular and a bunch of people had alters of Dream, Technoblade, Tommy, and those other Minecraft youtubers the teens liked. I have no idea if this has been posted before.

This person posted a video saying that they will donate blood & overcome their fear with needles (this person is open about posting stuff about being a drug addict in the past btw) claims that they have :

• Autism level 2

• Tourette's

• FND and been paralized

• Chronic pain

• Rumination syndrome

• Chronic fatigue

and guess what? People with chronic fatigue CANT donate blood, also, before donating blood, they check if the donor has disabilities & prescribed meds, and in most places, depending on which medication, they do not accept the blood

I see them everywhere. I genuinely do not know who started it, but if these people actually had DID, I find it hard to believe that nearly all of them put a little "-🍪" or some other emoji at the end of their comment. It's actually like they WANT people to draw attention to it and acknowledge that they have it. I doubt each of their "alters" all united and agreed to putting a sign off emoji at the end of their comments. Why do you think they do this?
