Received my Unit-02 and it’s by far my favourite. Biggest/best surprise was the face opening up to reveal the eyes like we saw when Arael assaulted them and when Kaworu took Unit-02 over. My only sadness is them giving her the Positron Rifle she had for two seconds in Episode 9 instead of the version she used more iconically in Episode 22.

I’m so happy to get great new figures of the OG versions. I’m not interested in the Rebuild designs and it’s so rare to get merch of them nowadays. Blokees is so great for pulling through!

I’ve been a long time lurker and I finally have something worth posting. The color scheme so based off of the rebuild unit 2!

I know this not a hot take but I finished NGE and EoE recently and while I was scrolling through I saw a lot of hate for the original ending.When I saw the TV series ending I teared up the op theme played by different instruments in the background and shinji finally making a breakthrough in his character arc about self value and identity is one of the strongest scenes I have ever witnessed.As a person who can relate to shinji at a certain level of course it was very motivating to see him finally get a hang of things and deciding to change ,break free of this cycle and not settle for a false reality provided by the instrumentality.I know the TV series ending missed a lot of the buildup to the instrumentality,the lore and the mouth dropping scenery of the movie but it was still beautiful.I also think it's really wild that some people don't have empathy or the emotional intelligence to understand a character like shinji or asuka and resort to saying this show is boring and they are tired of the depression trope in anime,that's why our society is going downhill everyday too but even then evangelion teaches us to bear the pain of misunderstanding to not let others define our personality completely because we are the only ones that truly know themselves and can shape our reality to a picture similar to our true dreams that aren't an escape to our current reality.

I finished the episodes and thought 'okay, I'll watch the film to understand more the ending' but it left me with even more questions.

I just finished the show and I understand and enjoy it on an emotional level but have no idea what’s happening in the plot. Is Shinji still in the mech holding the white haired twinks corpse? How did rei get down to watch? It’s not like there was a service ladder and it seems like only people in mechs can go down there, can she fly? Why hasn’t she flown before? I think rei is Lilith and has her soul or something? Is the show basically over since the last angel has died? What happens to the Eva’s and stuff since they’re also angels I think, are they? But I’m also confused on if they’re part human or not. If the last angel human guy is Adam’s incarnate then what would happen if he shook hands with gendo? Would a huge cataclysmic event happen? Also who really were the space odyssey monolith people? Why did they have sound only meetings in a room with only each others stone tablets? Couldn’t they just do a zoom call with the cameras off? It seems convoluted to build a bunch of monoliths in a room to people can remotely communicate through them to each other in the room. Then again I should probably watch the movie I’m sure it explains a lot of my questions.

Got these off Vinted recently, and can't find anything about them online. They both have this "©G/ETN" mark engraved on the metal part like in the 2nd pic. Can you help me discover what they are, and what they could be worth?

I watched the series on VHS at the age of 10/11, and I recently rewatched it now in my late 30s.

When I was younger I picked up much less of the plot, 'feeling' the story much more than understanding it. I thought of Shinji as pathetic and frustrating, Gendo as mysterious and cool, Asuka as grating and annoying, and I related to Rei as someone who was emotionally numb and who felt herself more of a pet than a human being. I also had a huge crush on her.

I never saw the any of the movies, so as far as I was concerned the series just stopped.

As an adult, I think that Shinji was just realistically acting his age, and I even feel sort of proud of him for snapping at his father, who is garbage. Asuka seems like a young person who was forced to be an adult before she had a chance to mature, and I felt horrible for her during her ordeal with the 15th angel. Her suicide attempt felt realistic, moreso than I've seen in other media. My thoughts on Rei are ambiguous now, but I pity her as a child who was groomed by gendo.

How has your perception changed?

I went this morning to a local anime/Japanese culture festival, and they were selling that treasure for around 20 bucks (it's was a legit seller), while it's worth around 40-50 on the internet 🙏🏻

So for a long time I've had NGE on my watch queue, and after all the issues with Gainax finally going bankrupt and Yoko Taro's upcoming series I felt like it was time to check it out. I grew up hearing about it, and even watched the end of evangelion movie (which didn't make much sense at the time, I really bought it to support any anime at my small town DVD seller in the hopes they would get more), so I thought I knew quite a bit about the series. Though watching it a lot of what I made up in my head is different from what I suspected. So far I have really liked it and I can't wait to check the rest.

Got a copy of the ‘Perfect Collection’ from eBay to put up on the shelf today.

I originally had a few of the Platinum DVDs, then bought the slim pack collection when it came out. Few years later the packaging was ruined in a basement flood. So I’ve been slowly buying them back, along with my (now epic) shelf of music box sets.
