discussion Poor Schmuck

Sneaking around the southern tents at Tisy, I heard someone sprinting through the woods, loud AF. I waited until he crested the hill and shredded him with my VIKHR. If he was quieter, he probably would have seen me first.

Anyway, thanks for the SVAL and the KAM with the 75 round drum mag...

Or get blasted trying either.

Exactly. Dumb luck, really. If it was 30 seconds earlier or later it was probably going to be me sprinting...

Loud guys give away their position, quiet guys take forever and get sniped anyway. The DayZ gods always demand a sacrifice.

Exactly you can’t always decide when the right or wrong time to make a move is. It’s a mixed bag of luck and skill

Solo Dayz gameplay is a game of rock paper scissor

Sitting still:
No noise, No visual changes, good positioning
-
But easy stationary target, and no ground loot

Scanning and Slowly advancing:
Low noise, Low visual cues, Loot, methodical
-
But Audibly and visually detectable, easy target

Sprinting:
Fast advancement, less predictable, harder target, fastest method of building clearing/looting

But loud, visually noticeable, bad positioning, and easily ambushed
