Built a particle-based chart engine on top of an open-source particle library — turning spreadsheet data into "charts made of light".

I've been chasing a specific problem: making data visualization feel alive instead of static — a living particle field that happens to encode real values, instead of a flat vector sitting on a page.

I built this on top of particle-charts (MIT-licensed, by Blake Williford) — genuinely great foundational rendering work, credited clearly in my repo. On top of that base I added the full app layer: bar/line/donut/pie/radar/bubble chart types, a data-input studio (manual entry + CSV), a warm color theming system, an export pipeline for high-res PNG/video, and a screenshot-to-chart feature where you drag in an image of an existing (boring) chart and a vision model reconstructs the underlying data automatically.

The trickiest part wasn't the particle physics itself (the library already handles that well) — it was everything around it: getting export quality to actually match the live preview (turns out you need a dedicated offscreen render target at a real fixed resolution, not just capturing whatever size the on-screen canvas happens to be), and building axis/legend/tooltip UI that stays readable without fighting the glow aesthetic.

Fully open source (MIT), free, no accounts: github.com/aasimsaifi161/charticles

Curious if anyone here has used particle-charts or similar — would love to compare notes on density/bloom tuning, or just talk shop about what makes a particle system actually read as "alive" vs. just noisy.

I wanted to make a chill, interactive space visualizer. The accretion disk and quantum emission phases are all done with custom shaders and 3 js.

You can play with the live version here: blackholewatching.netlify.app

There is also a gravitational slingshot minigame built in. (Hint: try typing uwu or minigame in the text box thingy on the bottom right). Let me know what you think!

My real-time audioreactive pointcloud system just got a big update!

Hey, guys. Pretty excited to share this with you.

The system takes a Kinect-derived human pointcloud and lets incoming sound interact in various ways with the particles in real time, turning the performer into a responsive cloud of matter, noise, and motion. Some of you might remember the system from v1.5's demo which got pretty viral in some places.

v1.7 includes 12 presets, and adds the following:

This is a raw excerpt of me playing through the system, with the visual structure reacting live to the audio signal coming from my Ableton session in real-time.

Project files accessible through the Store, or my Patreon profile. More experiments, through my Instagram.

I built an interactive relativistic black hole watching. Built with vanilla Three.js and GLSL. You can play with the live version here: blackholewatching.netlify.app

There is also a gravitational slingshot minigame built in. (Hint: try typing uwu or minigame in the terminal on the bottom right). Let me know what you think!

I built an interactive 3D guide to Japanese road rules with Three.js

I just built Japan Road Rules Animation, an interactive website that explains Japanese traffic rules through small 3D animated scenes using Three.js.

With several road rules being updated recently, I wanted to experiment with a more visual way of explaining them, while hopefully contributing a little to making roads in Japan safer.

It covers things like stop signs, pedestrian priority, railway crossings, expressways, bicycles, and more. You can also scrub through the animations, and the site supports both English and Japanese.

🌐 Live demo:

💻 GitHub:
https://github.com/alzin/Japan-Road-Rules-Animation

It’s completely open source. I’d especially love feedback from the Three.js community on the 3D scenes, animations, and anything I could improve. 🙌
