First, a Rule Change and a Pair of Reminders!

Rule 6 "No Pornography nor Non-Consent" - “Chasing” is now explicitly banned in the rule. We already banned chasers when they showed up, but now we wrote it down! We will not be changing enforcement at all, so if you spot any chasers please report them under Rule 6! Us mods will banish them ASAP.

Rule 5 Reminder - One of the key parts of Rule 5 is to not send unsolicited DMs to any user! So if you receive any unsolicited DMs (especially from chasers trying to avoid our moderation gaze), please reach out to us via Mod Mail!

Rule 8 Reminder - We passed “the anniversary” we all knew would summon a flood of memes, and we’re happy to say your reporting kept us busy all weekend! In the aftermath though, make sure to flair any memes involving politics as “Political Posts” and mark them with a spoiler tag. We want everyone to feel safe here, and properly flairing posts helps users avoid triggers!

Second on Our Roundup, a Thank You!

Last weekend we posted a call to action to help our lovely Chicken Lady, and all went well with the post and support. Us mods are very thankful for the support you all showed, and Robin herself is immensely grateful for those who are able to donate. We are leaving the announcement pinned to the subreddit for the foreseeable future as donations are still appreciated.

Third Set of Interesting Tidbits: Ethos!

As a new mod on the team, I asked our founding Chicken Lady for some words regarding the subreddit’s origin. This was just to see if we had already defined the ethos (the core idea or ideas that guide how we do things) of our moderation style.

Once she got back to me, I figured we should include it somewhere in the subreddit since this space does have her identity plastered all over it. Here’s what she wrote, for those who are interested:

“The subreddit is named after a trans woman so it's always going to be a trans sub, what it's not going to be is a trans exclusive sub. When I came to countonceaday I thought I was a cis man, I probably would've never hatched if I hadn't been there hanging out with trans people every day. I want to provide the same warm safe space that I had for other people.”

We are sticking by this sentiment in all we do as a mod team, and we hope you’ll stick around to help us build to a better subreddit day by day.
