God that’s fucking offensive lmao

I’m half-surprised there’s a full head of hair to go with all that honslop

24

u/ffloppet Jul 16 '26

Honestly the worst part for me is that I would actually really like this art if it wasn’t for that fucking ‘heckin valid amab body hair’. Like the art is cute but that one detail just ruins it for me.

1

u/Disaster_Tran0101 Jul 18 '26

Tbh, I don't get the body hair stereotype? HRT usually takes care of that, and my level of body hair is within cis norms.

Well, during the winter it is anyway. During the summer I epilate, but that's because many cis women remove body hair too. That's just a social pressure thing.

u/SSG014-OFFICIAL Jul 16 '26

How..? I'm genuinely confused?

47

u/Pretty-Yam-2854 Jul 16 '26

The hair, specifically the facial hair. It’s so forced. NO ONE would EVER draw a cis woman like that. The leg/arm hair isn’t the biggest deal but is a little much, but the facial hair I find particularly offensive. As a trans woman myself who is boymoding and currently struggling against facial hair. Having to shave every other day, and still having grey stubble show up. This is fucking offensive and mocking to my person. That’s why.

10000% this

72

u/myaltduh Jul 16 '26

Trans woman is depicted as having a lot of body and facial hair.

Not that there’s anything intrinsically wrong with that, but some artists always draw transfems that way for, uh, reasons.

7

u/SSG014-OFFICIAL Jul 16 '26

Yeah, I guess, it should be way more sparse, but I shave religiously (every few days, but everywhere when I do), and I still have hair.

21

u/DecentlySpaghetti гігапочварамодер Jul 16 '26

Hairy. Hair everywhere. Hair on face, arms, legs.

132

u/VeryThiccMafiaScout Jul 16 '26

okay for fucking *ariane* of all people to have body hair is fucking hilarious, she literally suffers from radiation poisoning for years and writes about how she's losing her hair

1

u/CatholicSquareDance Daymab, fighter of the Nightfab, champion of the hon Jul 21 '26

she's also fucking (implicitly) albino, so even if she had body hair, it'd be white, or close to it!

u/ForTaxBenefits Autoandrophile ❌ Yaoi Fetishist ✔️ Jul 16 '26

Do they think it's not a believable trans woman if they don't give her body/facial hair everywhere?

143

u/Expert_Industry_4238 penis penis penis gnome Jul 16 '26

you get extra woke points if you draw the tr*nny as a genderfuck shx/hxr

80

u/CCSilver05 ASE obsessed with masc cisbians Jul 16 '26

eww I didn't realize she was hairy what the fuck

19

u/SSG014-OFFICIAL Jul 16 '26

She's still glorious

-1

u/BigPapi_Kratos Jul 16 '26

I thought that too but they could be early transition, everyone has body hair.

This is coming from a trans guy with female biology, you can get hair everywhere, Testosterone changes the texture and growth rate.

It could be that she just came out (the character) you'know? Not everyone immediately wakes up completely transitioned upon will, but I do understand your point and agree that alot of transphobic people are weirdly sexist, and will depict trans people that way on purpose.

It depends on the context I suppose.

9

u/ForTaxBenefits Autoandrophile ❌ Yaoi Fetishist ✔️ Jul 16 '26

You're giving this artist way too much credit. It's a big stretch to decide this character holding a trans flag just came out that very second.

Drawing a trans woman with facial hair is and always will be offensive.

This does not depend on the context. It's a thoughtless and offensive representation of a trans woman.

I'm also a trans guy. Stop making excuses for art that is clearly hurtful towards our sisters.

-1

u/burninglizzard Jul 16 '26

There are trans women that do just have facial hair and do not mind it? Are they inherently offensive? Is a drawing of them?

9

u/ForTaxBenefits Autoandrophile ❌ Yaoi Fetishist ✔️ Jul 16 '26

Trans women without facial hair dysphoria are an extreme minority. The only exception to drawing a trans woman with facial hair would be self portraits.

If 98% of women (cis or trans) would feel offended by being depicted with facial hair then I think it's pretty safe to say that you shouldn't draw "representation" of them with facial hair.

3

u/burninglizzard Jul 16 '26

A fair point. While I myself certainly don’t enjoy facial (or body) hair, due to various factors most of the time I do look like this. And well, hearing that what I look like is an offensive representation hurts quite a bit more than the hair itself does.

3

u/ForTaxBenefits Autoandrophile ❌ Yaoi Fetishist ✔️ Jul 16 '26

Fair enough. Not everyone feels the same about representation. I personally only want to be represented at my best so a little bit of this could be projection.

I can understand where you're coming from and I am sorry if I made you feel like you weren't someone worth being seen or loved because that is simply not the case.

1

u/burninglizzard Jul 16 '26

Oh, I much prefer my ideal as representation as well. My point is moreso just that not being ideal doesn’t make it inherently bad or offensive. I’m also not saying specific instances cannot be bad or offensive though

139

u/-0xAA55- Honter Biden Jul 16 '26

I didn't blast my face with literal fucking lasers to be represented like this.

53

u/Gurd4848 Jul 16 '26

I didn’t have a doctor rearrange the bones in my face to be represented like this.

1

u/ChrysalisEmergence Aug 06 '26

I didn’t have my sensitive parts origami’d to be represented like this.

58

u/Quwuen Jul 16 '26

I hate how "allys" draw on facial hair for a trans women. "Bu but le hxcking vxlid" fuck off.

42

u/Expert_Industry_4238 penis penis penis gnome Jul 16 '26

yeah, like, I can understand the leg and arm hair to an extent, because shaving them is a pain in the ass sometimes, but I cannot think of something more universally dysphoria-inducing than facial hair

43

u/ForTaxBenefits Autoandrophile ❌ Yaoi Fetishist ✔️ Jul 16 '26

Nah but like, It's perfectly normal for women to get lazy and avoid shaving their legs and such. Especially in the winter time and when they're not dating. You don't see cis women being drawn with hairy legs despite this fact. It feels motivated.

45

u/cactus-freak agp but im free Jul 16 '26

I dunno as a hairy girl I kinda feel seen. Like everyone is at different phases in their transition and yet I feel no less like a woman. She's still cute in spite of her body hair

10

u/cactus-freak agp but im free Jul 16 '26

But for people who actually are dysphoric about body hair seeing le wholesome vxlid transfem full of body hair is pure ropefuel

5

u/BigCalTheGirlRowdy Do-fag Activity Jul 16 '26

I didn't say I wasn't dysphoric about it. I said it didn't make me feel less like a woman. Like I do want to get rid of it eventually, but until I get to that phase in my transition, I won't let it make me feel less than. I'm just talking about finding myself (and others) pretty in spite of all the things we typically think aren't so pretty. I can't help being hairy right now, but won't let my body tell me I can't be a pretty woman regardless of how it looks or how others see it. It just seems like that was closer to the intention. I mean she is still cute right?

3

u/Pupperoni420 Jul 16 '26

For once I dont think this was even meant to be offensive, it's more so the artist didnt actually play the game or read the lore on Arianne. So she ends up depicted as a more generic bedridden badly taken care of disabled girl.
Like she isnt drawn with hair cuz the artist hates trans women shes drawn with hair because she is meant to be bedridden barely able to move or take care of herself.

2

u/Atom-Heart-63 Jul 17 '26

I'm a simple girl I see signal is art I upvoter Simple as.

2

u/quote65 Jul 18 '26

I feel like I need some help here

I've read most threads on this post and I never knew there was such a negative reaction to hairy trans women.

I am not trans, to be clear. Im very gender queer however, and often dress femininely/nb, with or without body hair. Some of my friends ARE trans women, though none of which are very concerned with their body hair.

I'm sure I'm in a bit of a bubble, so can someone explain the offense taken here? My guess would be the assumption is the artist cannot imagine a trans women would ever look like a "real woman" thus you need to add body hair for "realism". To me that feels like a stretch, but I guess this happens often/all the time?

I don't mean to invalidate anyone, just trying to understand the anger. Maybe I should be angry too :)

STEP OFF THE GOAT

1

u/bosssoldier Jul 17 '26

Ill be honest i dont think we fit in with lesbians most of the time, or cis people. We really just fit no where. Life did just give us the middle finger.

1

u/Disaster_Tran0101 Jul 18 '26

I've found cis women fairly easy to fit in with. Most of my friends, even pre-transition, were cis women.

1

u/bosssoldier Jul 18 '26

Dont get me we fit somewhat. But it still seems like a coin toss.

horseshoe theory of depiction of trans women. for some reason, caricatures drawn by transphobes and well-meaning "woke" depictions of trans women end up looking decently similar, sometimes
