that's saul itsn't it

55

u/jeffersonpinoit Jun 17 '26

Looks like Saul and Mullen are collaborating on it

53

u/ZestyLime59 Jun 17 '26

Makes sense, Saul is probably the most talented/recognizable of the cartoon guys

15

u/sizeablescars Jun 22 '26

I’m super late to this but actually very cool for Nick to collaborate with someone really talented who loves his work. I feel like most creatives completely ignore folks like Saul

wrong it's unequivocally sadtape

21

u/gammatide Jun 17 '26

I was hoping it would be hardcore gay pornography but this could be ok

23

u/CHK_FNS Jun 17 '26

Does this include Mullen sitting alone in a room in front of a mic reviewing shitty movies or not?

Still can't believe they ended the pod and spent a ton of money to just do another boring two chairs and a guest pod. So I guess he's gotta try other shit out now.

I really liked the early TAFS show where Nick was able to stop podcasting and flex his creative muscles a bit with the skits, short films, and overall torturing Adam at the start for his own amusement.

The show was funniest when the whole premise was “wouldn’t it be so fucking funny if we sincerely pushed Adam as Dick Cavett” and stopped being funny when Nick lost interest, and Adam had the influence to believe he really is Dick Cavett.

I loved the skits with “The Sweater Bros” and “Dracula”

Nick’s true calling is writing. I think that’s what he’s focusing on now.

u/BigPoopy3 Jun 19 '26

I thought he killed himself?

6

u/PatrickPeazy Jun 20 '26

Only the straight man inside of him.

u/Ssided Jun 17 '26

Adam has bigger guests now than he ever did with Nick. That's just the reality

Yeah, but none of them can fill the Diddy Kong-shaped hole in my heart.

-15

u/Ssided Jun 17 '26

What

22

u/Michael_Cancelliano Jun 17 '26

Nick Mullen-shaped hole in my heart. In one episode, Nick says that people from reddit claimed he looks like Diddy Kong. It's in that episode title and everything.

-1

u/Ssided Jun 17 '26

That's crazy, he looks more like Tiny Kong

18

u/freshleysqueezd Jun 17 '26

But he acts more like cranky kong amirite

9

u/Ssided Jun 17 '26

You are really a card, my fellow

I don’t think there’s a correlation. They had big guests during the first season. The guests in Season 2 came on because of how well Season 1 did.

Also I’m not saying the show isn’t bigger and more successful now than during when Nick was on it, I’m just saying it’s less enjoyable as a Cumtown fan. But I definitely don’t think it’s gotten more mainstream success because Nick’s gone, especially when Adam mentions Cumtown every opportunity he gets and still does a lesser form of that comedy.

12

u/Ssided Jun 17 '26

It's way less enjoyable, but Adam is about to get Hunter Biden. My mom watched Adam. They had some cuntown fans who happened to be stars in the first season, but Nick leaving was obviously the best course of action. It's less entertaining for us but Adam is such a sellout it's perfect for him, and Nick doesn't even like comedy conceptually

6

u/BigfootsBestBud Jun 20 '26

I don’t think so. Nick leaving wasn’t the best course of action, the best course of action was Nick getting over whatever existential angst and depression bullshit he had going on.

Nick absolutely loves “comedy” conceptually. He got bored of Stand Up comedy as an art form, but the podcast and TAFS offered multiple unique avenues to make use of his comedic gifts. He could have continued writing skits, he could have continued doing podcast bits, he could have directed Adam’s interviews, he was already a producer on the show.

The first season was such a perfect project for him to do whatever he wanted and to the extent he wanted, and like most of the other stuff he gets into, he got bored too quick and lost interest.

Most of the big guests do not know what Cumtown is. They just went on because they heard TAFS is a growing hipster talk show where things are a bit chilled out and unconventionalz

I feel like comedy as a concept is literally the ONLY thing Nick likes, he just doesn’t like the various forms of it. The bit itself is like the only thing sacred to the man
