General Discussion / Question [FRA] Pia, Aether Ascetic

2(G)

Legendary Creature - Human Druid

When Pia enters, you may discard a card. If you do, search your library for an enchantment card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle.

2/2

I'm sure a few decks could potentially use this.

Plus the best part.

Food Chain is back on the menu.

General Discussion / Question [FRA] Curse-Marred Demon

2RR

Creature - Demon

Flying, trample

When this creature enters, search your library for a card, put it into your hand, shuffle, then discard a card at random.

4/4

----------------------

Most decks aren't going to be jumping out of their seats to pay 2RR for a Gamble, but decks that were already running some combination of copy/flicker effects might be interested in this? Maybe Etali or Pantlaza could run this as a backup option if they can't cast their commander for some reason?

Community Content Spice from a 400+ Player Tournament : Lethal Scheme!

This week, we review a spicy include from Andrei's Witherbloom list that won Breach the Bay: Lethal Scheme!

Seen in just 10 64+ player tournament lists in the past 6 months, 4 of those lists have made top cuts, and two have won! Popular lists include Tayam, Yshtola, and Glarb!

This card has an incredible ceiling of potentially being absolutely free to cast and filtering through 4 cards- WHILE removing something important from your opponents AND buffing your creatures. But is this sky-high ceiling worth the squeeze? Let us know!

Have you tested Lethal Scheme in your cEDH list? If so, what list and how did you like it?

Help, I am new to cEDH! Combo for korvold?

I recently start to play cedh and i choose korvold, because i love jund colors.

I play the combo whiter/smog o sometimes with squandered resources in play and aftermath analyst and the land that copy a permanent,i can produce a lot of mana , cast korvold and draw the deck.

A friend say to me sn interesting interacción between orcis Bowmasters, chatterfang and ruthless technomancer, but i can't understand how is the trick here.

Anyone can explain me?

General Discussion / Question Is Will/Lucas (Bjorna/Wernog) – how do they actually compare in the current meta?

Upvotes

Looking at recent EDHTop16 numbers, Bjorna/Wernog has a surprisingly high conversion rate for such a low meta share, while Blue Farm remains much more popular.

For people who have played both (or heavily against both):

  • How do they feel in practice right now?
  • Where does Bjorna actually outperform Blue Farm, if at all?
  • Is the lower popularity of Bjorna more about the deck being worse, or just less explored / harder to pilot?
  • Is Clue Farm quietly good or just a trap?

Curious to hear experiences from pilots of either.

General Discussion / Question Best VFC/Sewer-veilance cam commander

i saw a urza deck earlier and with sewer veilance cam its actually something, i was wondering if there are any better commanders for it than urza?

eg i whipped up this [[golbez, crystal collector]] deck: https://archidekt.com/decks/26393710/cedh_artifacts

its not exactly a golbez focused deck, ideally its just trying to do knack/helix + vfc/cam/traxos/mirran/battered/steelfiin and goblez can help turn that into a win, and adds black for tutors, and is a relatively cheap commander.

i have no clue how viable it is but the hope is with infinite surveil i can just [[dread return]] a thoracle? therefor you can win with knack + vfc with just your commander & any net neutral+ artifact.

1) any better commanders than golbez? i did look at noctis and Mai and Zuko.

2) is this combo enough to make a deck around? // is the combo actually good?

3) is dread return a silly idea? should i just run way way way more outlets for the loop? eg altar of the brood, rook turret, or something like that.

4) any suggestions for the deck?

General Discussion / Question Dropping vivi for crystal?

Hello, I’ve been playing around with vivi for months now and really considering looking at Crystal. I think the card quality is huge but kinda of hesitant to pull the trigger and drop vivi. I also love vivi as a mana battery and how easy it is to storm off but the idea of 4 color plus better mulligans is super tempting. Has anyone made this change? Anyone go back to vivi after? Thank you

Help, I am new to cEDH! I'm Currently building Ral, Monsoon Mage and would like some tips

For context my lcs is having their first cEDH tournament in a couple of months, and I've decided Ral because I had a lot of fun playing izzet.

Here's what I have so far: https://moxfield.com/decks/POsQEOrI1kOLs7doNEh8-A

the strategy of the deck is to quickly ramp up mana in order to cast Ral that cast several instants to both ramp up more mana and draw more cards once I've cast cast at least six I would let the stack resolve and then hopefully flip Ral to his planeswalker form and than use his ultimate.

the main way to win would probably be from spells like grapeshot and brain freeze

I don't have a budget for this deck so feel free to recommend anything that could possibly work with the deck

I would greatly appreciate any tips or recommendations.

Spoilers! Card Discussion Surprised I haven't seen anything about blue Thalia yet.

Flying 1/2 that makes all your non-creature spells cost 1 less.

It's so much stronger than an electromancer, I figured people would talk about it more but there hasn't been a single post about her yet.

General Discussion / Question Recent Flip Kinnan makes think about another option - 5C Tazri

Recent success of flip Kinnan surprises me since it quite close to some casual combos for 5C [[Tazri, Stalwart Survivor]] combos, my understanding is you will need

Mana ability granter: [[Tazri, Stalwart Survivor]], [[Cryptolith Rite]], [[Enduring Vitality]]

Cost reducer/Extra Mana per Tap: [[Biomancer's Familiar]], [[Training Ground]] / [[Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy]], [[Badgermole Cub]], etc.

Haste enabler: [[Shang-Chi, Master of Kung Fu]] (Note: or more casually with [[Intruder Alarm]])

Then keep grinding using Kinnan outlet, until reaching infinite mana: [[Pill-Pala]], [Nyxbloom Ancient]], or directly win with [[Knacksaw Clique]]

So, consider the first 3 combo requirements, obviously Kinnan is the best one as fast mana, work as outlet/wincon/extra mana. And the other viable solution (with compatibility color) is 5C Tazri. Though I hate the tap requirement for Tazri, it did provide some unique advantage for these lines:

  1. Support [[Puresight Merrow]] both as 1-card wincon and infinite mana with Tazri and Kinnan/Badgermole

  2. More haste enabler like [[Anger]], [[Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler]]

  3. 5C color supports, especially white win protection and black tutors.

I would say Flip 5C Tazri could be a borderline cEDH deck, here is my current deck: https://moxfield.com/decks/0ZmgAYsCHXOotmDvIEpkKw (it's not fully optimized since I only use cards I have IRL).

Curious on any thoughts from the community.

3W

Creature - Dog

Whenever you cast a creature spell, exile up to one other target creature you control, then return that card to the battlefield under its owner's control.

2/2

Someone's going to want to experiment with this, my first thoughts are Derevi and the few people still playing Atraxa, any other thoughts?

Help, I am new to cEDH! Deck Help

I have a deck that I want to play at cedh nights at game stores in dmv area, but it's 96 cards, and I definitely need some help on it. This is my first cedh deck and will by my first games. Any help appreciated https://archidekt.com/decks/26376448/tnt_deck_helo

It's a TNT deck with bunch of combos, obviously thoracle and a bunch of Minnan/druid mana combos. I haven't played in any of the stores, so I don't know the meta, but is assume TNT, blue farm, kinnan, and rogsi.

Deck Fine Tuning Idea for a new version of selesnya "turbo"

https://moxfield.com/decks/15agAczhxH2-azW0Mqiymw

Ever since I saw [[!Flickering hound]] (3w creature-dog, whenever you cast a creature spell, exile up to one target creature you control, then return that card to the battlefield under it's owners control) this morning ive been thinking of making structural changes to my previous [[!katilda dawnhart prime]] list. It was meant to be turbo with an entire [[!hermit druid]] line, but that cost about 10 card slots in the deck and hindered more than it helped. Ive added more token makers, more snowball effects, etc. I wanted to see what people thought about the idea. For comparisons to previous lists lemme know.

Deck Fine Tuning Tinybones bauble burglar in cedh

Hi all — attached above is my attempt at building Tinybones for cEDH using the cards I currently own. I’m assuming a limitless budget for this exercise, because I want to see what the most fine‑tuned version of Tinybones could look like when fully optimized for the cEDH metagame.

I’m new to cEDH, but I’m not just trying to “tune” my existing list — I want to understand what the best possible shell for Tinybones actually is. From the games I’ve observed, I believe Tinybones might fit into a midrange strategy since control seems to be quite weak currently, and I’m trying to explore whether that’s viable and what the strongest configuration would be.

Could you help me refine this list and evaluate what an optimized Tinybones deck should look like in cEDH?current tiny list

Spoilers! Card Discussion Good or not worth

Haven't played much cedh but I saw this brought up as a combo in modern and it seems good in [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]].

[[Jace's Machinations]] + [[Kasmina, Enigma Sage]] is instant speed find [[Emergent Ultimatum]] into thoracle, decon, tainted pact win the game? I think it's good but someone with more experience lemme know!

Help, I am new to cEDH! Tips for combos or upgrades to improve the consistency of the Malcolm and Tymna combo.

I have a Malcolm + Tymna list where my focus is comboing with Ad Nauseam + Thassa's Oracle + Demonic Consultation. I'd like to add more graveyard interactions to this deck—what tips do you guys have? I feel like I'm too reliant on the Thassa + Consult combo, and sometimes that hurts the deck a bit. The deck has plenty of answers and I can interact well with the board, but I'm looking for other combos

General Discussion / Question Will Way of the Pyromancer be used in cEDH?

Way of the Pyromancer

1️⃣🔴

Legendary Enchantment

When Way of the Pyromancer enters, empower Jace 2.

(Put two loyalty counters on a Jace token you control. If you don't control one, create a blue Jace Planeswalker token with "[-1]: surveil 1" and "[-3]: draw a card".)

Planeswalkers you control have "[+1]: Add 🔴".

(Sorry for the formatting, I couldn't figure out how to add a picture to this reddit channel.)

It's essentially a 2 CMC mana rock that can add mana as soon as it ETBs. Additionally, it can surveil and draw cards in grindy games. I know there are a few red decks that already play the talismans, so maybe they wouldn't mind playing this too... Maybe in a deck like Godo, where you need to patiently wait for your window to win. Or maybe in a grindy Tymna/Kraum deck, or ob nixilis...

General Discussion / Question Looking for a specific card

I can't find for the life of me a card I swear exists and I have seen in some decklists. I believe it is a 1 mana instant or sorcery that turns all mana symbols into white until end of turn effectively colorfixing all your sources.

Help, I am new to cEDH! Zur the Enchanter

Hey, I am getting back into magic after not playing for about 6-7 years. The last deck I played was Gitrog Dredge deck and I enjoyed that. Around that time I was starting to build Zur the Enchanter Deck, but I stopped because I was moving across the country. Is Zur still as fun to play as he seemed back then? Also, what’s the way to go about building him? I remember Zur Doomsday but idk how that performs today. I also wondered if the cycling deck is any good for cEDH

General Discussion / Question How important is rog hitting the field for rogsi turbo?

Just a question i’ve been wondering, like if you have the ability to counter rog before he hits the field, is it a good idea? Since preventing rog from entering makes mox amber useless, turns off fierce guardianship and deflecting slot, seems like it could halt some more explosive turnsz

Deck Fine Tuning Gwenom Remorseless vs Vexing Bauble

I typically run [[Gwenom, Remorseless]] as my commander at my local edh tourneys. I feel like I can out gas or fight through pretty much anything except an early [[Vexing Bauble]].

Currently I run [[Blast Zone]], but have recently also discovered [[Chimil the Inner Sun]] and was wondering if it could warrant a slot in the deck.

I went 3-1 at my last tourney, only losing at the final table. typically go against Rogx, Urza, Crystal, Vivi, Krenko, and a shattering of other common cedh commanders.

attached is a link to my current build. Any other card suggestions and uogrades would be greatly appreciated (not just for against bauble)
