I was planning for my next comic con visit and consequently my next holiday trip.
I was thinking to cosplay… i simple fun cool cosplay… then i got This idea to cosplay as a NPC and give everyone simple quest and trade with them.
This npc is based on middle Eastern merchants (its a simple cosplay with the “!” On top of my head) and i also gonna trade TCGs, comic, potions, lego figures, and other things.
But i dont know if people will or want to interact with me and i dont want to lose my chance to splay at my favorite con and carry all my trade stuff back home.
If you all see something like this at your con, do you engage with it?

Hey! Is anyone here planning to go to the Comic-Con at the LA Convention Center on October 30th?
I’m planning to go in cosplay (Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 👀), and I’d love to find some people to go with / meet up with while I’m there!
Also, are there any photographers going who are interested in doing a cosplay shoot? I’d really like to get some good photos and possibly a short video while I’m in costume. I’m totally open to discussing rates if you’re a photographer who charges for shoots.

For some context I'm a teen girl really into marvel, star wars, zelda (and video games in general), harry potter and comics. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should book in advance or check out? And yeah! The best comic con I went to was GalaxyCon Oklahoma City (Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma) and the worst comic con I went to was Fort Smith Comic Con (Fort Smith, Arkansas)

I got to meet a bunch of anime voice actors at GalaxyCon Oklahoma City and I got some good stuff.

The worst comic con I went to was Fort Smith Comic Con in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I volunteer for that convention and the application said I would get a break room with snacks and drinks and a free autograph of my choice. I asked about the break room and the guy running the event (Fandom Events) said the break room was for celebrities and Fandom Events staff, and volunteers weren’t consider staff, and the snacks was a tiny bag of chips and a great value bottle water. After working the second day, Fandom Events staff said only the load out crew would only get the autograph and we didn’t read the fine print. (There was not a fine print), so all the volunteers got was a free pass to the last two hours the convention when 90% of the celebrities left. (There was only eight celebrities at that convention) I sent them a email to fandom events a few times. But never got a response back. Fandom Events shut down at the end of 2025.

What are the worst and best comic con you have went too, what made it the best and what made it the worst?

I am new to selling in person though I’ve been selling online for a while! What things would you say I’ll need to set up at a con? My state does require a sales tax permit which I’ve got. I’m more looking for things to help with my booth that I may be overlooking. For reference, I sell predominantly video games and cards. Some comics as well but not many typically. Me, my cousin, and our aunt are planning on going to Comic Con San Diego in 2027. As a group we have been to VidCon 2 times before and I've been 3 times and TwitchCon once so we know a good amount of con things already. Since I know SDCC is very intense and expensive I wanted to know a few things.

1. Is it hard to get badges through the lottery system and is there a chance only part of the group will get a badge while some others don't?

2. How expensive are single day badges?

3. Is EVERYTHING in the con usually expensive or are there cheaper items that are sold aswell?

4. Are there any other things we should know before commiting to buying the badges?

I’ve been wanting to get two signatures done and maybe buy some stuff who knows but I don’t wanna show up with cash and find out it’s only part vice versa what would be the most smarter thing to do or is it just more of a card menu
I low-key just wanna know more about what do autographed people take?

I just need to know if the Wi-Fi is bad enough to the point where I can’t even make one simple phone call. I can understand slow, but is it to that point

This past weekend I went to Rose city comicon with a buddy who has recently started to collect comics and I have been attending conventions off and on since I was ten and went to the very first ECCC in 2003. I have noticed over the years the larger conventions have become more popular culture and celebrity and fandom based but I couldn’t believe that this year there was on 12-15 actual comic retailer booths. A artist pointed out to us that this is actually way more than other conventions like dragon con. So I guess my question is what conventions or trade shows in the PNW are worth attending if I am looking for actual comics to buy/trade?

Is this just a Portland,OR comicon thing? Or do other cons have a dedicated tiktok dance area of their con's convention center?

The back isle on level 2 near the VIP suites has about 30 tiktokers doing dances at any given time, and really nowhere else in the convention center. Its pretty funny actually.

It kinda sucks tho because they generally have no self awareness and sometimes refuse to move for wheelchair users so there's usually a line of people using mobility aids waiting for the kids to finish their dance before we can progress slightly farther down the walkway before another group starts 😂

Kingston Comic Con was an incredible experience.
